Hi Community, has anyone found a way to automate notifying product managers when a specific topic is mentioned in the community?  I’m open for any workarounds and ideas 🤔

I have many automations for this using Zapier that send alerts into slack. But you can use any automation tool for something similar.

the payload for when new topics are started can be filtered on keywords in the title, body of the post, and/or tags.

Thank you @DannyPancratz we also have Zapier in use. Can I ask what are the triggers sent to Zapier I’d like to test this out.

There are two prebuilt triggers for Gainsight CC for “New Topic” that would allow you to automate for all topic/content types in two Zaps:

  • New Topic
  • New Reply

Each can be configured to specify a certain Topic type, or you can leave that undefined and it’ll run for all Topic types.

From there, I use Zapier’s Filter step to only continue when certain keywords exist in the title, body of the post, or public tags.

Lastly, we use slack so I send these alerts to slack.
