Hi,

As the administrator of our Community, I have encountered an intriguing issue that I am unable to resolve, or perhaps I am simply looking in the wrong area. There exists a private group that was established, and I am currently listed as a member. What steps should I take to change my status to an admin role instead of a member within that private group?

Hi ​@Sougatoroy - it currently isn’t possible to change the admin of a group, but it’s also not needed as there is no functional difference between an admin and a member (who has control access), other than the fact that you can’t remove the admin from the group.  Note that there’s a separate and distinct setting for who receives join request notifications, where you can appoint yourself instead of the admin.

Thank you so much. Is this feature possible in the future? If so, when? We think it’d be great if we could do that because it’d give Admin more control.


Hi ​@Sougatoroy - I don’t know of any near-term plans to change how this works.  I understand that it feels a bit strange to not be able to change the admin of the Group, even if it is just a cosmetic thing with no functional impact.
