Ability to apply Templates to existing success plans via Rules engine

I’d love the ability to modify existing success plans via the rules engine, and in particular, I would like the ability to add additional templates to an existing plan.

This would allow a customer’s journey to update and/or change as they reach certain milestones.

As an example use-case: Currently we have a new customer success plan, which creates CTAs for most of the major milestones, beginning with onboarding, through their first annual review.

We would like to break this into parts so that the onboarding portion is created upon signing, and then the rest is created once onboarding is completed. This would mean less clutter for Onbboarding CSMs, since they would not have CTAs that are not relevent to them to look at, and higher accuracy, in that the dates for all of the post-onboarding CTAs could be based on when the customer actually activated, and not a generic/standard activation timeline.

Today, we can create CTAs on the account via rules engine, but being able to apply a template would be preferred, since those objectives/CTAs would be tied to the success plan itself, and have the potential to be customer-facing with shared success plans.

Hi Tyler,

Thanks a lot for sharing this. This is there on our short term roadmap and we will be working on this in the next couple of QTRs

Additional use case: We have an onboarding success plan where the ideal outcome is a call with the customer. If that call happens, we want to apply template A, but if that call isn’t scheduled we would apply template B. Having the ability to add additional templates based on criteria in that success plan would allow us to only show the relevant tasks based on the situation, and keep due dates accurate.

This could be applied in a lot of scenarios where your secondary actions are determined by the result of your primary actions.

Updating Success Plan via Rules Engine is in medium term roadmap. Users will be able to append templates through the update Success Plan action.

Adding an additional use case here. We’ve started to collaborate on partner implementations via success plans. We know about 75% of these implementations because they are tied to new solution opportunities. We’d like to create these new implementation objectives on an existing success plan automatically based on opportunities as they close. This would make sure we 1. don’t miss any and 2. make this collaboration easier on our partners as they scale.

Any roadmap updates? It looks like this has been medium term for quite a while.

@Anil Raj Pujari Can you clarify what the Medium Term road map is?

We are actually quite hamstring in our current workflow by this missing capability. Our use case is that we have one Success Plan per customer (we actually are doing this at the Relationship level if that matters). We assign a set of Objectives when this it automatically created when the customer signs a contract with us, and it contains the onboarding playbooks and next steps. Once that is completed, we should shift into a regular success cadence with the customer (let’s say monthly). We want to generate the Objectives that the CSM should be tracking to monthly automatically, and want to do it as Objectives, linked to the Success Plan, rather than separate CTAs against the overall Relationship. For now we cannot do this, so the Success Plan is a LOT less central and important in our workflow than it should be.

Ideally, this is something we would like to be using a lot more in early 2023, hopefully the medium term roadmap aligns with that somewhat.

@dave_gordon_neo4j

Update Success Plan action will be released with Horizonised Rules Engine. Horizonised Rules Engine will be available in beta soon.

In update success plan action, new templates can be appended to existing success plan. Hope this helps your use case

Hi team,

I wanted to jump back to this thread and check if the “Update Success Plan Action” in the new “Horizon Rules” have helped solve the issue discussed above. Please let me know if there are any other concerns.

Thanks,

Monica
