It would be awesome to have the ability for a community member to have the ability to give “Kudos” to another community member. Think of how several communities or games do this, like Reddit.

Additional features to add on to the idea

  • Cap the number of kudos a user gets by X time frame (week, month, year)
  • Make the kudos reportable on
  • Send an automated private message when a kudo is given
  • Display the kudos on the user’s profile (could be as a badge or a new item altogether)
  • Create a Kudo leader board OR allow for kudos to be a part of the leader board calculation

Ways Community Managers could utilize this

  • Set up an automation so once a user reaches “X” kudos, they can trade their kudos for swag or a donation amount
  • Set up an automation so once a user reaches “X” kudos, they achieve a special rank
  • Set up an automation so once a user reaches “X” kudos, they join a special private group

Love this one @security_lion!

Funny, as I was talking with someone about something like this yesterday, they called it “social currency” and wanted to use it to award those that got the most kudos. They were trying to adapt https://values.justdisco.com/ for this but wasn’t quite working.

I like the term social currency @Scott Baldwin! Thanks for introducing me to a new platform I wasn’t aware of.

Hello @security_lion thank you for the idea. I'm curious: in which use case would you see users sharing kudos with each others?
