When logged in and viewing a post or reply, there’s a … option that includes “Link to URL.” My assumption was that selecting this would copy the direct URL of the post or reply to my clipboard, to facilitate easier sharing (e.g., in a separate but related discussion in the Community, in a Support conversation, internally via Slack, etc.). However, after reaching out to inSided Support, it sounds like the expected behavior for this button is to just update the URL bar with the direct link to the post or reply.

I’d find it helpful to have that button actually copy the direct link to your clipboard, to save an extra steps of selecting the URL and copying it (not sure what use case(s) there are for only updating the URL bar in your current session, doesn’t seem very helpful).

Related requests (may need to be split out as separate ideas):

  1. Exposing this option to non-logged in users would be helpful too, enabling easier sharing of specific posts/replies
  2. Would be great to have a 🔗option when you click Share at the bottom of a post, and also expose this share option on replies (#1, above, would be solved w/this)

Hi @Chris Anderson! Thank you for this idea, this would be a great UX improvement, for sure.
