After the platform issue yesterday caused by a deployment, we think it would be useful/prudent if Insided could give us advanced notice of platform updates/releases. And a bit of info about what’s in the deployment, too.

It doesn’t have to be war and peace, just a few paragraphs to explain what time the deployment is happening, what’s changing (eg whether it’s bug fixes, new features, etc).

In fact, it seems weird that this isn’t already happening. All our other suppliers give us advanced notice of releases.

As well as giving us useful info, we could make sure someone was on the alert just in case something goes wrong. And also we’d make sure we weren’t planning to post anything big/important at the same time.

Looks like there as another release yesterday. Again, we weren’t told it was coming. And today we’ve got some superusers saying things have changed for them…. we would really be grateful if we could let them now in advance

Thanks for sharing your feedback @m4rc  (reminded me of a topic from a while ago):

I think what @Yoeri wrote back then still stands:

For releasing the general rule of thumb will be: whenever a release has a direct impact on the behavior / design of the platform we will announce it to inSpired a couple of days prior to releasing it to your platform.

What were the specific releases you would have preferred upfront notice about?

As a sidenote: I’m going to mark this idea as ‘Closed’ since it’s not a product idea (our ideation is scoped specifically around our product capabilities and doesn’t include our product process).

About updates and fixes @daniel.boon

So we can inform our superusers and other community members when something is going to change and why. And so we too are aware and can keep an eye for any new bugs introduced.
