Allow Admins to Convert Existing Data Designs to Design Templates

Basically what the title says. From what I can see so far, there doesn’t appear to be a way to convert an existing design into a template.

It would be great if there was a way to do that, so that you wouldn’t need to rebuild existing designs as templates, or if you decided you want a design to be a template later on.

This would be extremely handy, and really make adding design templates a lot easier.

Just in case this is still open,
The functionality should be available since the feature release. Both the options are present - to save a design template from an existing design or to update a design template from an existing design.

@bradley did you have a chance to check this approach?

Had no idea that was there and that’s what it did - maybe that tells us something?

I think having it as an action here would be helpful too

Three dots on the data designer list page

Great to know and +1 on the UX feedback from @bradley

The most expensive part of building is the mistakes. That's true in construction. Not so much in CSOps. So ask questions, make mistakes and learn. All views expressed here are my own.
