Allow inSpired community members 30–60 minutes to edit Idea posts

Twice now I’ve submitted Ideas here and clicked ‘create’ before realizing I’ve included a screenshot showing community members’ names, which I prefer to blur to protect privacy. :disappointed_relieved:

Unlike Question topic types, there is no ability to edit after creating the post, so I’m unable to replace it and have to sheepishly ask @tom.shaddock to replace the image for me. Sorry Tom!!!! :sweat:

I’m wondering if inSided could grant us a short window of time to edit Idea posts.

And now I’m going to click “create” and then see things I wish I had done differently …. :sweat_smile:

@LPortalupi thank you for your idea. Indeed that is in the cards, to allow end-users to edit ideas in the same way they can edit other content types. I will keep you posted once it is implemented :)

Yup, that’s right @Dorothyt . If this idea becomes a reality, it would be rolled out to the entire platform. It might be done so that inSpired gets it first for testing things out and then the rollout would start to happen elsewhere. I’ve seen that happen a few times.

Hi @Suvi Lehtovaara! I can take over this topic from Marion 🙂 Firstly, the edit functionality for ideas and ideas replies will be made available platform wide, once ready. The truth is that we need to invest first in some technical enablement, so I cannot give with confidence a timeline for delivering the editing functionality. Having this said, we see this as an essential, so as soon as we’re unblocked, we will fill in this functionality gap.
