Somewhere along the line, I’ve given feedback that Insided should build some standard profile fields for common fields, including Company and Job Title.
If/when that’s added, I’d recommend adding them to the Author meta data available via Zapier (currently you can get username, ID, rank, mainRole, and avatar).
Use case:
We use Zapier for sending alerts on new posts into to specific slack channels. We have several use cases for this and will be expanding them.
In many cases, it’d be helpful to inject some context for those seeing the alert.
For example, right now we have “New question from {username}: {topic title}” with the topic title linked to the topic URL.
I’d love to be able to expand that to use cases like this:
- “New question/idea from {username} ( {company} ): {topic title}”
- “New idea from {username} ( {job title} ): {topic title}”
Injecting that context would be helpful for CSMs to see their customer company’s questions or ideas in alerts like this. Or for idea feeds, job title would help convey persona-related insights.
All of this would save the process of the team having to look up that user to get the context on what company/job title. And many of those seeing those slack alerts (or other actions from the the trigger, maybe a spreadsheet row) might not have the Control access to even find that data on their own.
