I’ve noticed there are a number of items in the inSided platform which are fully destructive when clicked or selected. Some examples:

  • Deleting a post
  • Erasing a user
  • Deleting a group
  • Deleting a rank

And I can go on and on…

I seem to even recall some folks like @DannyPancratz talking about the constant worry of deleting a group when saving a change (since the buttons appear so closely together).

There are lots of usability best practices -- you can go all the way back to the early days of computing and writings from folks like Don Norman and Jacob Nielsen, and even modern writing on the topic where the importance of a confirmation dialog to make sure that users want to proceed with a command -- especially one that should be included when data would be destroyed.

Any plans from inSided to implement some much-needed UX love in these areas?

Hey both, thanks for raising it. It’s absolutely on top of our mind as well. I can’t agree more about the importance of confirmation in preventing human errors.

Tbh, there are some legacy pages in the system that are tricky to make UX changes sustainably. And we’re now working on front-end refactoring to make UX improvements in a more scalable and efficient way.
