While I am constantly advocating for minimal intervention by the community team internally; as a user on InSpired I sometimes feel that I know a few names at InSided but not well enough that I know who is the best person to mention in different situation… It makes me feel counterproductive to mention what is likely the wrong person.

I wonder if there might be room for a flag to community team option for help or input as opposed to the « flag » option that exists now to report abuse.

Perhaps it is a feature that should be limitable by rank so as to be controlled more thoroughly. Perhaps for super users to have an extra tool in their arsenal…?

@SmartlyGreg As I understand, this is mainly something you feel would come in handy in the inSpired community as sometimes, you wouldn’t know exactly which person to @mention. Correct? Would it be something your community would also benefit from and would use? If so, what would be the desired behaviour when someone flags a post or reply? I.e. where would the notification ideally end up?

@Gainsight CC Team thanks for your questions here.

My idea was basically to have 2 types of ways to attract a community team member’s attention, either to something inappropriate or abusive that requires intervention as is the case today or as I feel might be relevant, when someone from the company is required for the answer to be complete.

So perhaps both are implemented in a very similar way in Control or simply by allowing standard members to add a moderator tag through the front end.
Not sure if the use of this team handle you used was done on purpose to point out that this is a possible solution, I think it could be! Simply adding the “@CompanyTeam” mention to the original post if someone clicks the “Flag to community team” button.

I think this would be useful for most communities including our own. A good example of this might be this post, which took a few days to be noticed by InSided, since I did not know Marion was on hols!

Hope this helps!
