Enable Sticky Topic Functionality for Product Updates

Hello @DannyPancratz thank you for your idea. Can I ask why would you like a way to have the product updated be sticky while you can use the featured topic widget to highlight a product update on top of the list?

@Marion Frecaut to be honest, I had forgotten the Product Updates module was more customizable with widgets than our simple UX, so this gives me an immediate solution. Thank you! 

With that, I’m not sure I have a clear use case for the idea anymore. But to walk you through my thinking … in general, I like when features that exist in one module also exist elsewhere. As an end user, I’m usually assuming comparable functionality exists for comparable features (ex. feed of recent topics in both Community Module and Groups have “Sticky” option). As a feed of the most recent posts, I had assumed that’d be the case for Product Updates, as well, but it is not. Obviously, PUs are a different content type, so I get it.

After review, we've decided not to move forward as we're currently investing in alternative workflows that address similar needs in a different way as the Featured Topic widget provides a supported path to highlight a product update at the top of the feed.
