On our support website we use SDL Tridion for managing content and all our Knowledge Base exists in SDL Tridion. Also, we use Elasticsearch to show results on our website.
We won’t be able to migrate our KB to community.
As we know, it is impossible now to integrate federated search with these systems but it would be great!
We have the federated search (FS) API in beta but will be releasing it very soon.
Please let me know if this solves your issue, so I can close this idea.
The FS API allows ingesting data easily so that it can be indexed, which is what you are looking for as it makes the data and the search agnostic.
