Generate an email notification for selected tags

We have an operational requirement where we need to alert members over multiple teams (over 12) without being able to divide into so many forums and notify using subscription method; where they could be alerted by a different means (rather than having to receive subscribed emails for each post into the forum or tagging individual names).

What we saw as an option is using tags for a specific team, but we need to have an email notification being generated to a group of people automatically based on the selected tag to a topic (need to have the option to add people into the tag).

Appreciate if this could be implemented or any other means to achieve this as it would be really helpful.

Hi @Yasas_AK,

We have a similar need. We want our certain product teams to be notified when an idea with certain tags gets posted.

We built a notification to Slack via Zapier using the Moderator Tags.

Basically when a moderator tags an idea with a set Moderator Tag, slack looks up that tag in a Google Sheet, finds the corresponding Slack channel ID, and then sends a Slack message with the relevant data. 

I don’t know about setting this up for emails, but I can’t imagine it being that much more dificult.

HI @Ilan B thank you very much for the suggestion and idea; appreciate it. However the requirement is to have this via this via Insided itself rather than having to use another integration or application. Hence raised the idea :)

The requirement is clear @Yasas_AK - could you provide any details into why this would be valuable for you (e.g. is it to notify product teams about relevant new ideas, or support teams about relevant new questions?)

Thank you as mentioned we have an operational requirement where we need to alert members over multiple teams (over 12) without being able to divide into so many forums and notify using subscription method. So we need a method to notify them by using tags for new questions raised that would directly be related to the specific team :) 


I have created many tags; but they won’t be worthy if we can’t generate an email for a new tagged item (because people cannot know if there is a new items added to their tag and they cannot go into a tag every day to see if there is anything new). As mentioned subscription method won’t work since this a whole lot of teams within one product itself; The other limitation in Insided; that raises this requirement is, we cannot create a sub forum within a sub forum.


So the alternative I saw is as mentioned above which would be highly useful.
