We need to make sure that leads/ opps cannot be edited once they are closed bc we have that ability in SFDC. By allowing to edit at any time, there will be issues with the sync failing to SFDC if a CSM attempts to edit after and then we have GS and SFDC out of sync
If sync with salesforce is used for lead admin , Any update made in GS will automatically be reflected in SFDC.
Can you please help me understand why you think GS and SFDC will be out of sync ?
Also, will it be possible for you to create a video of how this locking is enabled , what admin configurations are done and share with me on rjindal@gainsight.com and smadela@gainsight.com
Last question, why do you think a CSM will update the CSQL if its already closed?
SFDC has a permission limitation that does not allow editing after the stage is “closed”. There will be a failure in the sync to SFDC bc it will not allow the sync to edit the record in SFDC if closed, but I cannot set that function in GS. Therefore, the change will stay as is in GS but not reflect (as expected behavior bc of the SFDC permission limitation) in SFDC. This happens in rules engine if you attempt to edit something in SFDC that is not editable
It doesn’t matter “why” i think they would…… if they are supposed to be able to do something but we allow it we are opening ourselves up to risk. Usually it is bc they are trying to fill something in they forgot to, but in that case they need to approve the change bc we report on things as soon as they close.
