Link Timeline activity types to specific CTA Types for reporting purposes.

Currently, when you create a timeline activity of a certain type, the corrosponding CTA that is created is created as whatever your default CTA type is which throws off reporting on CTAs. I would suggest that instead the CTA created from tasks from a Timeline activity can be set to be in a certain reporting catagory instead.

    Hi Zach!  There are actually a few similar posts related to this.  So right now, if users are creating CTAs (Tasks) from the Timeline, your default CTA Type is Activity.  

    1. You can instruct users to instead create a CTA first - and then go to the Timeline within the CTA and post.  This way they can pick the Type and Reason.

    OR

    2. You can expand out the activity type to include some general items that users can fill out.  We have one "Log an Update" and then Type of Update and Communication Type.  We report off both of those fields.  

    If I can find the other posts, I'll update my post.  This is something we'd like as well - simply because sometimes people just select the wrong one.

    Hello Everyone!

    Happy to announce that Timeline is enhanced as per Gainsight Horizon Experience as part of the v6.18 release (SFDC / NXT). The Timeline Horizon Experience gives prominent space to high priority information as well as new options to search and filter Timeline. Users now have the ability to edit Activity Type after creating an activity, create and save Timeline views, preview attachments, manage drafts from a consolidated tab, and much more.

    This feature is implemented in both SFDC and NXT versions.
