Mark idea as hidden or unlisted so it doesn't show up in search results

We are still trying to figure out the best approach to handling duplicate ideas.  At the moment, we are responding to the poster with the original idea they should vote on, setting to a status of "Duplicate" and closing the topic. Unfortunately, they still show up in search results and search suggest. This clutters the user experience.

Ideally, I'd like to mark these as "unlisted" so they still exist and are accessible by directly hitting the URL from for example an email, but they do not show up in search results or any other browse interfaces. This is similar to the YouTube unlisted video concept.

An “unlisted” concept would be helpful to my company too. Even with the merge, the secondary ideas are still around in the idea feed and search which means people can end up landing on those first if they can’t easily spot the “real” idea. This can be confusing and at the least means they might click around longer, at worst they might give up after seeing a lot of duplicates. It also inflates the number of ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to share this idea.

After review, we've decided not to move forward as we're currently investing in alternative workflows that address similar needs in a different way including improvements to category-level permissions and access controls that give moderators more granular control over content visibility.

We appreciate you calling this out and helping us validate our approach.
