Our community users like the option to make some of the home page widgets dismissible. We have featured articles and content on the top of our home page, which leads straight into the 2:1 activity feed. Our users would like to be able to dismiss the featured content after viewing so their page views only the activity feed (until new featured content becomes available).

I’d imagine a ‘Allow users to dismiss’ option on each widget:

and if selected, allow for some way to dismiss the widget:

which would collapse/hide that section, making the page appear like so:

Thank you both for this very interesting idea. I'm wondering what is your opinion about having widgets that are visible according to user role. For example, you could feature topics on "getting started" for only new users?

Good questions -- I don’t think that would solve the problem as we’d need a way to easily move people between roles. The use case here is meant to display promoted content until the user decides it’s no longer relevant to them.

Hello @mstone . Thank you for posting this idea. We have made the decision to park it for now because it didn’t get a lot of votes and replies.
