Hi there-

Our users share code they host on GitHub. Rather than pasting only the URL into questions, conversations, and articles, it would be helpful to have the option of generating a preview to accompany the URL.

I suggest GitHub as it’s my highest priority, but I see value in previewing links to community content, Salesforce/Zendesk KBs, Twitter, Reddit, or other non-community resources that users access.

Previews could be as simple as the way Slack previews links...

But it would be more engaging if the preview contained additional data similar to LinkedIn’s previews. In the case of GitHub links, LinkedIn displays the contributors, issues, stars, and forks.  For other links, I see value in surfacing the title of the page, the author of the content and a star rating of the content if available.

Thanks!

Dave
