The invite link for hidden groups gets truncated when shared with teams over Slack. As a result it doesn’t work. I suspect other tools also behave in similar ways.
Would be good for inSided to find a way to shorten this URL.

Hi @Scott Baldwin, I tried to replicate this, but when I copy the invite link from an invitation-to-hidden-group email, it’ll copy just fine in Slack without any truncation. However, the link doesn’t work for me because it was personalized only for the original recipient to be clicked on. Can you better help me understand the problem?
Here’s an example — with a couple values adjusted to not point to one of our current groups:
https://www.productmakers.com/groups/179?invite=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJncm91cElkIjoxNzksInVzZXJJZCI6MH0.eVXPVod6nw1ftPqgrGRxmWdDBtm8SzkHw8zT08mEoxA
Once posted to Slack it ends up containing a string with h…] in the URL and when that’s shared it results in them being unable to get to the group.
