We’re big fans of the search API for facilitating federated search (our case study). Here’s an idea for really taking this to the next level. 

In the same way that search indexes the results from the API, it’d be great if the Related Topics functionality can index those results as well.

Examples:  

  • Maybe there’s a training course on that topic from Skilljar or something added via the API
  • We have pre-built templates in our marketplace that we index, it’d be great to drive traffic to those, rather than questions about how to build similar functinality 

ROI:

  • deflects unnecessary questions/ideas for content available in search
  • Increases traffic to those resources (likely the intended result of the federated search API)

Hello @DannyPancratz, moved the idea to open to gather votes. It makes total sense to have a consistent federated search experience all across. Thanks for the idea.

Echoing what Danny has shared here, as it’s the exact use case my client would benefit from. They plan to integrate their knowledge base and LMS systems (2 different systems).
