Restrict viewing/interacting with a piece of content by role

Hello @Chris Hackett thank for creating this idea. Can you give an example of a topic published in a category that you would like to make more visible to other users?
I have several concerns with this idea:

• first the complexity of it. You might be lost what see what after some time
• Also it could be strange for end users to see a topic and when clicking in the category name in the breadcrumb not being able to access the rest of the category

Would it be more simple to post the idea in a public category instead?

Hi @Marion Frecaut I think their intent is to be able to have content visible by selected roles in categories which are open. Users without the specified roles could still see the rest of the content in the category.
