An If This Then That for Role based onboarding users.

When I toggle On a Custom Role (Employee, Partner, MVP… etc) there should be an option to trigger a notification email like Manual badges that will help me onboard different categories of users, as I enable their special permissions like I do to Private areas of the Community, for. e.g.

The email gives me a chance to call out Next steps Onboard them.

 

The more sophisticated version (in the future) would be a Gamification based onboarding leading people along:

You Registered > Complete your Profile > Say a Hello on this intro post… etc

Neat! Thank You @Scott Baldwin, not an email but there is a conditional DM option that would go out.

I will config this to be sent from a generic admin account, to address the core usecase. The only outstanding takeaway from the core idea would be the direction in which we can grow capabilities for Gamified missions to influence this in a social way.  

We do a DM, not an email and with any rank you can set whom it’s delivered from. 

Thanks @anirbandutta! We’re currently working on automated emails based on a variety of user properties (custom roles, last activity, registration date, etc.) that would send out once a user meets certain conditions. You could then create an email that gets sent out to all users that signed up eg. 7 days ago, 14 days ago, when they are assigned a custom role, etc. Would this help you achieve the flow you described? 

@Scott Baldwin Even though we’re working on email campaigns as this is a more common request, we’re still looking into building similar functionality for PMs, starting with a manual bulk action from the User overview.
