Hi!

I got this idea after thinking of ways to avoid consumers of our communities posting content against the community's CoC/guidelines. A clever solution would be to have a triggered pop-up window upon pressing “Create” for the first time where quick information about your community’s CoC/guidelines is written.

Example:

“Hi! Before you post this we would like to remind you not to post

  • personal information like social security number, e-mail addresses, phone numbers etc..
  • (...)
  • (...)

:black_square_button:Don’t show this message again.*                                                Cancel]      Proceed]”

*This option could be tied to the consumers cookies to avoid the consumer getting this pop-up message repeatedly.

I believe this is a very versatile function that many communities could use, not just for my own which focuses on telecom.

Please, let me know your take on this idea and if it’s something you could have use of on your community. :relaxed:

Hope you all are having a great summer! :sun_with_face:

Hey @Martin thanks for sharing this idea with us! The use case is clear: community guideline should be shown during topic creation. I think it can be useful to keep available not only for new users, but also for experienced community members.

Zapier community has a nice example of using description placeholder text to show the guidelines during topic creation. It will disappear after users start typing. What do you think about this?
