It would be nice to have URLs to external sites also unfurl in topic descriptions and bring in the contents of a share sheet in some way. It makes link sharing more interesting and provides more visual differentiation within topic posts.

Hello @Scott Baldwin thanks a lot for this idea. Just to make sure I understand what you mean with "unfurl" do you mean have a process when you paste a URL that it gets formated nicely showing an image and a description?

if this is what you mean, I really like this idea. We are thinking of potentially offering this on the featured topic widget on the homepage. To make it easy to share external content. What do you think of this idea?

Would you see the need for this when creating topics?

We already unfurl internal URLs a bit

Not sure about featured topics using these -- often share images can be a bit generic. Would have to test some examples out but might be some use cases.
