Is it possible to embed Wave Dashboards into Gainsight? Has anyone done this yet? Thinking this would only work on the 360 if at all.
+1 on this. I've brought this up to Venky and Karl separately. Since we can embed pages in C360, I had customers who embedded Tableau and Qlik reports in their C360.

I'd like to see us extend this capability to embed reports from other report tools into a dashboard. This would really empower our end users to see more complex and enhanced visualizations.

It will also most likely lighten the load on our reporting engineering team, as the need to duplicate features that are already present in more advanced reporting and BI tools will be diminished. Most customers already have licenses to Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, etc - so it's a simple way to let the powers of those advanced BI tools help power more Gainsight utilization!
+1 here.

This capability is also highly requested from SFDC so that we can partner on deals more effectively. Note that their AE's are getting comped 2-3X for selling Wave, so if Gainsight integrated more seamlessly, it would help drive our sales as well.
We have a roadmap item on letting other reports (non-report builder reports) embed inside our dashboard. Not in a position to comment on ETA yet. The work we do for CSMHome might push us in this direction as CTA tasks due report is not a report-builder-report and that is needed in there. Will keep this thread updated.
Hi,

I think I can shed some light on this. I have seen many requests form L2 support team where the customers complain regarding URLs not rendering inside embedpage.

And the reason for that is those services namely (Tableau, Dropbox, etc) don't allow their pages to be rendered inside Iframes inside another webpages. The only way we can render other apps inside another app is using iframe.

Little more Technical :

If apps like Tableau send "X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN" header in the response then there is no way those reports can render inside C360. Because Gainsight and tableau are not same origins. And they do this for security reasons like stopping their users to be exploited in any way.

How do we do this then ?

Practically, apps are supposed to communicate with each other using APIs or Connectors. Which requires a authentication and authorization steps involved. The iframe way of doing things isn't just right. If services like (Tableau, Dropbox, GoolgeDocs.. I am just taking examples here) allows APIs or connectors then this can be done in a solid and safe way.

Thanks

Hello Everyone,

Happy to announce that your request has been considered and implemented in the Horizon Analytics in both SFDC  & NXT versions. Horizon Analytics has new capabilities such as responsive charts and dashboards, flexible dashboards with more widgets (Image, Web Page, Rich Text), etc.

Thanks for posting!
