Skilljar June 2026

June was a big month for Skilljar. New AI capabilities, expanded content support, and more ways to fine-tune your learner experience. Here's what's new and ready for you to use!

Let's jump in😀

AI Tutor Now Reads SCORM & PDF Course Content—and Supports Claude

AI Tutor is currently in open beta, and based on your feedback, we've been making continuous enhancements to improve its functionality ahead of general availability.

  • Broader content coverage. AI Tutor now draws on content inside SCORM packages and PDF lessons, in addition to natively authored Skilljar content.
  • More accurate, complete answers. With broader support, learners get responses from AI Tutor grounded in your full curriculum, regardless of how it was built or uploaded.
  • Provider flexibility. Choose the AI model that best fits your organization, Anthropic (Claude) Sonnet 4.6 is now available as a supported LLM alongside OpenAI, a setting configured at the domain level in your Skilljar dashboard when enabling AI Tutor.

Larger File Support for HTML Lessons & Certificate Verification Redirects

In addition to AI Tutor, we've also made improvements across the admin and learner experience:

  • HTML lessons now support up to 6 MB of content, removing a critical blocker for teams building AI-powered content creation workflows.

  • Certificate verification links can now live on your own branded domain instead of a Skilljar-hosted URL.

Use New 10-Point Scale Option for Course Ratings

If you collect Course Ratings, consider switching to the new 10-point scale for NPS-style feedback. It gives learners more granularity when rating courses and aligns with the scoring format your team may already use for other satisfaction metrics.

What Are CE Teams Building with Skilljar MCP? Here's What the Community Is Already Doing

Following the Skilljar MCP announcement at Pulse, the community thread on real-world use cases is worth a full read.

Three practitioners have shared what they're building or planning:

Randon is exploring MCP for deeper month-over-month learner analysis, bulk content updates (titles, descriptions), localization workflows, and acquisition-related course creation at scale. The current blocker: MCP requires Claude Code, which is developer-restricted in his org. Claude Desktop support is on the way.

Sam Walker has gone further — building a full AI-assisted content editing tool using the Skilljar v1 API (with plans to migrate to MCP). The tool lets CE team members browse and open any Skilljar HTML lesson, apply Claude-powered skills to content, review changes in a Google Docs-style track changes UI with Accept/Reject buttons, and push approved changes directly to Skilljar. A GitHub-based backup system runs in parallel. Features in progress include training content update suggestions from Jira, WYSIWYG editing, and bulk quiz editing.

Katkenny is focused on democratising visibility into course completions, registrations, and account-level data via MCP — bridging a gap while their Salesforce integration gets set up.

If you're thinking about where to start with Skilljar MCP, this thread is the best real-world reference available right now.
