DearSally

Dear Sally,

I hear there might be layoffs coming at my company. I also have a buddy who was laid off from a CSM role several months ago and has been struggling to find a job.  Could you give us some tips to get a hiring manager's attention.

Sincerely,

Seeking (Maybe) in Seattle

Dear Seeking (HOPEFULLY) in Seattle,

The tech market is challenging right now and job hunting can be daunting for the most skilled.  But don't despair, the CSM Community is still thriving!  Here are some tips:

- Use Your Network - Be active on LinkedIn and be sure to connect with everyone you know.  Set your Linked to "open to work".

- Spruce Up Your Resume - Here are some tips - you need get specific. The more specifics you can put in especially tied to renewals and revenue expansion.  Talk about NRR & GRR improvements vs. "managed this size book of business".  Make sure to include quantifiable outcomes you helped your customer achieve.

- Follow Nick - Do you follow Nick Mehta on LInkedIn?  He regularly publishes job openings.

- Former Customers - Reach out to former customers. They might have openings or at the very least, be excellent references.

- Overlapping Roles - Look at other roles - Account Managers, Project Managers, Sales, Implementation, Enablement/Training, Operations, Technical Account Manager are some other roles that might have overlapping skills.

- Expand Your Knowledge Set - Learn all you can about using ChatGPT!  This skill set will be valuable in any role in the future.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Anyone have tips, tricks or just some encouragement - drop some insights below.
