Downloading images issue

Hi!

I created an article today and added an image as an attachment for people to download. The attachment is a png, but users are reporting that it’s not possible to save it. When they click on the image it opens but after choosing “save as” option, the suggested type file is WEBP File and it’s not possible to change. Has anyone had a similar issue?

We do have the same thing; I noticed some months ago that no matter what file type we use to upload our images, they are only downloadable as WEBP. This is a popular image format for web pages because of the high quality and low file size, but it is challenging when trying to download an image.

I’m not sure whether Gainsight is now automatically converting uploaded images to that format for the sake of faster page loading times, etc., or whether there’s any way to adjust it.

In the meantime, if you have an image that you want people to be able to download, in addition to embedding it for display, you could attach it to the article and provide guidance for downloading it from there. Bit of a workaround, but I think it would solve the issue.

Thank you @atwhite for your reply! It’s not ideal, but at least now we know it’s not something we’re doing wrong. For the workaround, I’m not sure I know what you mean. I have added the image as media + attached it separately to the article and both are downloadable as WEBP only. Maybe you meant to add in another way?

@juliaw Yikes! I hadn’t realized that attachments were being converted to WEBP as well, but I see the same thing for us.

Perhaps you could convert it to a PDF instead? I know those work for us. 😅
