Now that we can configure a category page with widgets, I would like to stop using all the custom pages I had created to tackle this usecase. However I would prefer not to have to manually re-do all these category pages.

Is there a way to easil copy/paste widgets or something else that would make this whole process easier 😅?

It would depend on how you have those custom widgets coded on the custom pages. If there is custom CSS that is connected to those widgets, you will probably have to move them manually. The code style > Custom CSS would have to be changed as well as adding the widget to the discussion page.

If your system does not have customer CSS components, it might be best to open two screens and copy and page each widget per page. I know you can duplicate custom pages but cannot duplicate widgets to appear on an individual page. Might be best to manually do this to be sure each widget is shown properly on mulitple screensizes.

I would recommend trying to do a translation project at the same time. You can add the widgets and put in custom text per language if you are already doing the work.

There's no copy/paste shortcut today, so manual changes would be necessary.

Developer Studio could be worth a look for the longer term in this case as well. If the same widgets recur across pages with, e.g., different copy, rebuilding each one there once with the variable parts exposed as configuration means you could place and tweak them per page instead of recreating from scratch, and future adjustments happen in one place.

It won't save you on this first pass, so manual copy/paste is still fastest for the one-off change. But if your widgets recur and you'll maintain them long-term, Developer Studio may be worth considering.
