"Show more" button gone on activity streams?

On the Recently active topics page and the Active since last visit page there used to be a “show more” button at the end of the activity streams to load more topics when you have reached the bottom of the list. It looks like the button is gone now. Our power users are often using these streams and are now complaining that they can only see the newest 25 topics which (because our community is quite an active one) means they can only see what happened in the past 30 to 60 minutes.

Did inSided change anything here?

Edit 02.03. 12.20h:
I have to correct myself. Apparently on these pages there wasn’t a “show more” button, but a pager (like on the Unanswered questions page), which is now missing.

Hello @bjoern_schulze, thanks for spotting that. You are right, we changed a few things to those pages. We refactored those pages in order to show ideas and Product updates there. We need to add a way to display more than 25 topics to those pages with a show more. We plan to follow up on that very quickly. I'll keep you posted once it is done :)

Hi @Nadia2  so i’ve created a ticket regarding the first point - ticket number: 20685.

The second point is a known issue and is currently in the process of being resolved, so keep an eye out for when that drops (hopefully this week) :grinning:

Thanks, @tom.shaddock! I will respond further to that!

Hi @Nadia2 @bjoern_schulze @m4rc - hate to dig up an old topic, but I’d like to get your feedback on a new discovery we’re made here. The team responsible has found accuracy issues with the number that we show for subscriptions in the menu (pictured below for clarity). In particular, this number can  differ from the number shown on the actual subscriptions page once you click through. This is not always the case, but is caused by issues like the user no longer having access to the topic, or the topic being trashed.

We plan to remove the count in the menu next to ‘Subscriptions’ because of this inconsistency, until we can solve the underlying issue, which we believe is complex to solve and needs quite some investment.

I want to get your thoughts on: how you feel about this change, and how much notice you’d like (if any) before we remove the count. I understand it’s frustrating to have this feature taken away (again!!!), but we think it’s important that it shows an accurate/consistent number with the subscriptions page.

Thanks @daniel.boon for sharing this issue with us, I appreciate that. So far the biggest concern was not the number of 'subscriptions' (favorites) but the sort function. In particular the heavy users who are subscribed to hundreds some even thousands of subscriptions. They have to visit every page to keep track of the current activity in which they are involved. That takes a lot of effort, frustration and in the end a lack of engagement.
If the order: most recent activity remains visible on the first page(s), I don't foresee any problems. I will explain this to our super users, and also ask how they feel about it and if they see any trouble.

Thanks @Nadia2 for reaching out to your super users and for your understanding. The sorting will indeed remain as it is (most recently active first) → this change would only be around hiding the number on the menu.

    Thanks for the heads-up @daniel.boon

Our users are worried that any change/fix to the number will mess the ordering again. I appreciate that you’ll probably go ahead and do it anyway, but I’m passing on their concerns.

Like @Nadia2 said the most important thing is that this function works, as superusers rely on it!
