CC Beta: Event Improvements

I often upload Events in bulk. This can cause a flurry of emails to be sent to subscribers of this feature, which leaves me in a position of not promotion or even removing the feature until it can be addressed how to tackle that. Perhaps a daily or weekly summary of events added?

Hey team! I love this: Add to calendar section, but I need to to incorporate the zoom link attatched to this event. I don’t seem to find a spot for an online meeting link and it doesn’t import from my google calendar meeting details after I publish meeting through google. Is there a way to edit these?

I’m not sure if this is a known issue or not, but I thought I’d post it here first to check. With the new Events beta, I can’t seem to create an event with the same day start/end: Maybe it’s upset because I’m adding it in New Zealand?!

I’m getting this, despite a 250 character description + embedded topic link. I’ve definitely had shorter descriptions in the past. And there’s nothing in the UI to tell me how long it needs to be. A bug, not an feature IMO

I just used the refreshed UI for creating an event and it’s definitely better than before. The improvements to date and time selection alleviate a big pain point. That said, I think the largest impact will come from things left on the roadmap in the post Seb shared in this group. One pain point not on the list is that, for me, picking timezones is quite tedious and repetitive. I’d love a UI refresh and improvement there if the team can think of one. I’m not exactly sure what the best solution would be, so instead I’ll try best to detail the problem. I have to pick a timezone every time <--- solution is probably tied to this Timezone list is quite long My timezone selection sometimes doesn’t “stick” (at least in the old UI, first test in the new one went well) I understand some communities have events for different regions / timezones, but, for me, a default timezone would be great if paired with the option to then change it as needed.

Happy Friday (the 13th 👻) everyone! Just before the weekend, I wanted to share a quick roadmap update for the Events improvements. Recently released Improved date & time selection To reduce the amount of clicks to set the start and end date, we learned that we could cut that in half by pre-filling the end date and time to be an hour later than the start date. So that’s what we did! Pagination on the Events overview If you have many upcoming and past events, you can now find all of them thanks to the added pagination on the Events overview in Control. More ‘Add to calendar’ options Until now, we only offered calendar support for Google Calendar. Great for customers that use Google Workspace, but not so great for customers on Office 365 or iCloud. That’s why starting today, we’ll now allow users to add the event to their Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar (web and desktop) and Apple Calendar!
