I need a way to help our employees find the questions that need a reply or a best answer from the front end.

They can use the “help others” tab or “unanswered questions” at the top - but from there they have no way to sort. It’d be great if they could sort by category from either of those options.

OR

If the search page would add “unanswered” as a filter or “least replies” from the drop down, that’d work too.

We would also like to see this so employees can focus on questions that need answers by their area of expertise.

Missing this exact functionality today, basically the Category, sub-category timeline retaining the ‘Help others’ tab

Came to add this same idea.

The new “multi-product” Gainsight community highlights this use case. When other communities move in that direction (after future enhancements related to the multi-product use case), I suspect this will be a key feature request.

Even in a single-product community, the option to filter by category is an obvious use case IMO.

If the team is still looking at overhauling the search UX (like they had previously done research calls on) perhaps a filter for answer marked Y/N like in the backend control would allow search to address this idea. Rather than a custom feed on {domain}/search/activity/unanswered, that URL could direct to a pre-built search, that can be filtered further.

Hi all! As we explore this, we’re considering two options for tabs widget:

1. Admin-configured feed defaults (you decide what appears in the tab - category filters are already available in Tabs widget)

2. Member-driven filtering and sorting (users tailor their own view and we save their preferences). See screenshot attached for concept design.

You will be able to choose what to show OR members can personalize the feed on their own workflow. This can be configured when setting up the widget.

To better understand your needs:

• Is this primarily about controlling what appears for everyone, or enabling individuals to focus on their own expertise areas?

• Would saving filter preferences across visits be important?

• Which filters matter most: Category, Unanswered, No replies, Content type, Tags?
