I'm working on some scaled outreach and I'd like to embed a.gif within an email template. Is this possible with Gainsight's email templates? I tested one out and it didn't seem to work, but I wanted to check if there are any requirements that I need to be mindful i.e. size. Or maybe there are workarounds like using an HTML template?

Were you using a Program or Email Assist? I haven't attempted either but curious to know what the limitation is.

Hey JP -

Yes, you can insert.gifs - we do it all the time! A few tips/tricks:

  • The image needs to under 600 x 450.

    • Note: If you insert an image larger than that and use the out-of-the-box resize (image below) it will break the.gif and insert as an image only. Always resize the image first.
  • Sometimes the.gif doesn't play in the email template - however if you test send, you'll be able to verfify that's it working.
Let me know if that helps!

The plan is to use the email in a Program, but haven't gotten that far yet. The behavior that I was expecting in similar to how I can embed a.gif in an email via gmail. I upload the.gif like an image and it plays the.gif inline.

When I tried attaching the.gif inline, my email template just shows a static image. When I embeded a link to a.gif, the.gif plays in the email template builder UI. However, when I sent a test email, the image is static as well.

@kendra_mcclanahan That worked! Thanks so much for the help :)

Awesome - glad to hear!
