It will be very helpful to have an option within rules to clear the current value before the run.
Very often, we need to add such actions to the beginning of rules.
This is needed in cases where the data that we use to update a field, don't have values for all the relevant customers.
If we don't add this action, previous value remains while we should have a blank value instead..

Having such option as part of the rule definition can save this work.

Hi Einat,

Did you try using the merge task in Bionic Rules. If you fetch the object (target) to which you are loading to and merge it with your source data using "Retain all records from left dataset". and then using the fields to load in just one action.

This will update the data as per your requirement without the need of creating a separate action just to clear off the values.

Let me know if that helps.

Regards,
Jitin

One other related feature that I'll mention is that with the June release you can now set a value to null as a rule action. This can also be useful in cases where you want to clear data and write a null/blank value.

See this link for release note details on the June release (arrived at your org this week): https://support.gainsight.com/Release_Notes/Current_Release_Notes/08Release_Notes_Version_5.15_June_...
