Configure Search for CTA Linked Object

It would be nice to be able to configure the search fields of a linked object in cockpit. Looks like this is only off of record name right now. The use case im running into is an internal ID that goes on the opportunity - most CSMs know this ID from other systems, not necessarily the name.

      This is REALLY important if we want to drive usage of Linked object. 
      I can think of several big clients that need the search to be better because it's difficult otherwise to find the right record to link.

        Thanks, Nitisha.  On the phone with a customer right now (ReturnPath) that needs more flexibility in searching for linked objects too.  Also, they'd like to be able to remove the "create new" when they link the Opportunity to the CTA.  Is that on the short term roadmap as well?

        Hi Elaine,

        Enhancing linked object search will be available in summer release but removing "create new" is not in the roadmap yet. We can add it in the roadmap based on the number of customers asking for it.

        Is there any chance to make it before summer? 
        Janet from HPE really needs to ability to search on IDs for opportunities as they typically have many opportunities with duplicate names, so it's very time consuming to try and find the right opportunity to attach
