It would be great to have the possibility to quickly edit a record in either Data Operation or Data Management instead of deleting the old record and uploading the new one. A specific use case is that we hold the Geo VP names in an object so that we can dinamically use them in rules/reports based on their Geo. The Geo won't change, but the VP name might and instead of filtering it out, deleting it and adding a new record through the upload, we could easily change the name if we could edit the record.
P.S. In order for this to be safe, it should go along with the Audit functionality so that we can keep track of what is being changed, when and by whom.

Hi Lucian
Recently we introduced the concept of a "Low Volume Custom Object" which allows for edit from Data Operations. Please refer to https://support.gainsight.com/View_More_Categories/GainsightNXT/02Data_Management/02Managing_Data_In_Gainsight/Low_Volume_Custom_Objects . Please also note the restrictions on the Low Volume objects to see if that suits your needs. Please raise a support ticket if you need any additional information on the same.

Sailaja

Hi Sailaja,
Thanks for the reply.
I've read about the Low Volume Objects, but there was a big limitation that you cannot merge them with the other objects (normal MDAs or SFDC).
That being said, is this a first step towards having the edit functionality available for all GS objects? Is that on the roadmap?
Thanks,
Lucian

Hi Lucian,
Currently edit functionality is only exposed to Low Volume objects and we cannot support the edit option for High Volume objects.
Audit logging for the edits to Low Volume objects is currently in progress and will be released soon.
Thanks

Hi Preethi,
Do you know if the ability to edit High volume objects is on the roadmap?
Thanks,
Lucian

Hi Lucian,
The ability to edit High volume objects is not possible. It is confined to Low volume records
Thanks
