Right now, the sharing happens via Gainsight but most of the times, Success Plans will be shared across emails. A good use case would be my exec sending an email to the customer exec and wanting to share the mutual success plan in that email/email assist. Please let me know if I am missing something and this is already in place.

This use-case is possible with current functionality, I've tested it, please refer below article.
You can forwared the email you have recevied OR you can also copy the url and send it via email and email assist.
Precondition: Please donot enalbe the OPT check box as shown below
