Report Scaling when Adjusting Legends

Hey Logan, I'm not quite following your request. In the example you gave, are you desiring that the line chart would be re-drawn with a different y-axis that would not have a starting value of 0k?

HI Dan, I don't know how you call it. In the past (before this Sep 2017 release), when you de-select one or several labels, the Y-axis will rescale based on the data presented. Same behavior in today's trending line chart for Usage section. 

However, this new release now locks in the Y-axis based on the entire pool of data presented by all labels. Selecting just one label, will not rescale the data. 

This means when I have two labels (segments), A is trending btw 100-200, B is trending btw 10000 -15000, by selecting just A, I will essentially see a pretty flat line without any peaks and valleys. This is utterly unhelpful. 

Please bring the auto-rescale back so that we actually understand the movement of each trend line. Thanks. 

Thanks Logan for opening this thread. To provide more context to my comment to Dan's: we use the trending report for internal business review. Say we have 3-5 labels in total. In the past, we can dynamically zoom in one a specific label (after deselecting all), and see the peaks and valleys of the trending line for that specific label/group in question. And then move on to another. The data rescales and is easy to read. 

Now, we would not be able to see the movements for most of the labels, if one of them has a much higher absolute number range. It dominants the Y-axis. 

I understand the new release is supposed to help the use case where a client may have 20-30 or more labels. And they don't want to deselect it all in order to zoom in onto just one. Makes sense. 

But why this enhancement will have to take away the flexibility of the trending, and penalize those who don't have extremely high # of labels? I could be wrong, but I would assume the use case for small labels is more common than that for too many labels. The tradeoff doesn't make sense. 

Please bring back the y-axis rescale function in the reporting. Thanks. 

Yes, we are working on this as part of Fall 17 release and the rescaling the Y-axis as needed, when an element is selected or unselected from the graph will come back to the legend interaction experience. This is while keeping benefit of "clicking a legend to select/show the respective element on the graph" . Earlier the behavior was, clicking a legend would hide the respective element on the graph and our customers wanted the behavior to be the opposite, the idea being you click on a legend with an intention to see it than hide it.
