The length of survey URLs was shortened to 32 characters in the v5.9 release, making it easier for recipients to consistently open surveys. However, if you don't enable your survey site as secure (https), the survey link will not work for your end users. In SFDC, navigate to Sites and edit your survey site settings to enable the secure https connection.
For more information on setting up secure survey sites, refer to Setup Salesforce Survey Domain & Test Survey Setup.

Hi Lila,
I have a survey live right now, and we've already sent out links for it. If I activate the secure connections requirement now, will the survey links already distributed stop working?

Seth, I'm checking with internal teams here and will follow up asap.
Do you know if the links are currently working for recipients? We would expect that if the secure site connection is not enabled, then the links would not work. I think the best thing to do in this case is to contact support@gainsight.com to confirm the best path.
Hi Seth,
Activating the secure connection doesn't impact the already distributed surveys links.
Surveys which were distributed earlier to 5.9 will work as it is without enabling secure connection also.Enabling the secure connection is mandatory from 5.9 onwards.

Hi Seth, Once the org is upgraded to 5.9,users cannot publish a survey without enabling the "Require Secure Connections (HTTPS)".
Thanks folks! I turned on Require Secure Connections, and am expecting that the already-distributed http links will auto-redirect to https
