We would like to do same, we are using different third party survey tool and we want to embed it to the community. It can be embedded with iframe but when I add Code and Language is HTML and I add the iframe code there the survey isn´t displayed. It just displays the iframe code in the message editor. Same thing when I send the post, code can be still seen.
What I am doing wrong?
Typeform embedded a Typeform survey with the steps explained above. Which third-party tool survey did you try to embed within the topic, is it listed in the supported media list above?

Yeah I have founded another topic where supported tools are listed and this isnt there → https://webropol.com/
Those surveys are not supported and can’t be embedded inside topics. You can embed it in a HTML widget on the homepage or within the sidebar.

We have to be able to embed surveys to the topics, homepage/sidebar isn´t option for us. I think if Typeform is supported there should be option to do this with other tools as well.
Hi there - looking for an update on uploading & embedding .mov files. I noticed this original post was 2 years old so just trying to understand what’s possible.
A large portion of our customer files are created in our personal digital asset management portals which create .mov files.
If .mov files are not supported, is there a common workaround?
Please advise!
Hi Ryanne,
Here are some suggestions for workarounds:
Upload the video to a supported platform (loom, wistia, youtube) and embed it in a post
Add the .mov into a Zip file (.zip) and attach the .zip to a post
Here that URL adds embedded video and in our community it adds only link to the video?
Hi Terore,
have you accepted the full set of cookies on your community? If you haven’t accepted the full set of cookies we’re not allowed to show embedded media and we’ll only show a URL. I can see the video embedded in the post above :)

Good tip, for some reason I had blocked cookies and after I enabled then automatic embedding started to work. Thanks a lot.
Btw, when cookies were blocked, when I tried “Embed media” feature I got error message “Media is not supported” or “URL is not supported” (etc, I dont remember exactly). This error message is confusing, you have right media and everything is ok but cookies are disabled. Is there anything you can do for this, the give error message what gives better info for the user?
Glad it worked! Did you receive the error because the cookies were not accepted or because the wrong URL was posted? When you use the wrong share URL you will get an error:
Note: When embedding media use the direct browser URL (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oxv6IRcuNaI) and not the embedded URL (https://www.youtube.com/embed/Oxv6IRcuNaI - mind the /embed/)
Just gonna slide in here for a sec!
I also note that if you decline all cookies on the inSided default cookie banner, that also breaks the media embed tool into thinking that nothing is allowed to be embedded. Just in case that helps somehow!
And yes, this is the error you’ll get.

Just like @Blastoise186 described above.
Thanks for clarification!
How about Medallia, can the Medallia surveys be embedded to the post?

If its not listed above then it probably won’t work. But you can simply try for yourself by creating a new topic or comment, click the ‘...’ and select Embed media and drop the URL to the Medallia survey to see if it will embed :)

Yeah, that is easy way to test but the problem is that I dont have any Medallia survey to test yet
Unfortunately I don’t have a Medallia survey at hand to test this :(
Such a cool feature! We will be using such a cool feature on our community very soon! I was wondering, is there a roadmap of further integrations, especially future music services that users can link to? :)
I realized the post only mentions articles to have embedded media. Will it also be live in comments on posts? Or is it exclusively for articles?
Thanks for sharing your question. There are no restrictions with this, the only area where embedding media does not work is within private messages.
I have updated the original post, so that it is more generic and does not give the impression that this is exclusively for the article content type.
Nice Julian! Good to know. I just wanted to make sure before I made a fool of myself on our community by asking for people to share their playlists to have the users unable to use that feature.
Can anyone provide some up-to-date instructions on how to embed a YT video so it displays and plays within a post or article? Not having any luck. I’ve read through this thread; I know I have accepted all cookies, etc., but no matter which way I try to embed a YT video I either get a “not supported” error around the URL type or the embed turns into a plain YouTube link.
@mcooksey I had to contact Gainsight as they had to enable it on the backend as we had some old settings on our community that got in the way of content embedding correctly. Might we worth pinging them to see if it is the same issue on your site?
Hey team — would it be too difficult to have Zngly on the list?
