We have two products that have different customers, how can we set this up in the Community?

Looking for some inspiration and ideas on how we might utilize our Community for both the products we have. A few years ago, we acquired a similar company (similar solution, different setup, modules, customers) and we want to be able to use our Community to serve these customers as well. Does anyone have a similar use case and how did you solve it?Some other critieriaWe don’t want them to freely speak to each other in open forums While they use the same product and are after the same goal (digital asset management) the products are different and behave different The other product is aware their product is part of the larger company They would care about the same type of connected ecosystem so there is a small opportunity of the conversations to be collaborated between the two products in a dedicated space Ideally we have the main part of the Community for our main customers, a small place to collab, and another place for the second product Would this only be able to be solved by addi

User API - How can I get a user's badges in realtime?

Hello all -I am in the process of setting up a series of Tray.io webhooks to enhance gamification in our Community, but running into a small issue.In order to check what badges a user has, I am using a get request /user/{id} which returns user information, including a list of badges that they hold. However, the information contained in this get request seems to updated infrequently.As an example, if I award a badge via a webhook (or manually), I can see it within the Community immediately by checking the user profile. The backend definitely recognizes that the badge has been awarded, and API calls to remove the badge function normally. However, the get user request does not update this information in real time - I haven’t been able to determine the exact lagtime yet but it seems to be at least 30 minutes.Is there a better way of getting realtime information of a user’s badges through the API?Thanks,Tyler

Aspect ratio for embedded/in article images

I know what our best practices are for the featured article images but am wondering if there’s a recommended aspect ratio or maximum width for embedded/in article images. We are wanting to publish an infographic that tallies community stats for the year (so fun!) but our outside design agency is needing more guidance on best practices for designing embedded graphics. Maybe just the article width so we can better anticipate/manage compression? Thanks so much if anyone has found that magic ratio for me to add to our creative brief template!

Control access on mobile

Hi teamWith the upcoming SSO changes to community access, will this resolve the issue of lacking Control access on a mobile browser?Important Update: Migration to Gainsight SSOWe’re thrilled to share that we will be migrating your community to the Gainsight Platform Single Sign-On with SAML authentication between December 11th and January 25th. Following the migration, you will use the Platform SSO with SAML option to access both the front-end and the control environment of your community, seamlessly switching between the two. If you currently log in with a username and password, no action is needed other than redirecting to the Gainsight SSO login page, where you should enter your credentials (use your Email ID instead of username). For those using SAML, ensure all community control users are added to the SAML app configured for CS.

Embeddable widget and javascript code

Hey there,Question about the embeddable widget (conversational) and the external links function. We can obviously add URLs to the external links, but is there any way to use the same button-like functionality (similar to external link) to call a specific function via javascript code? Currently, we use javascript to call up a chat function and I’m curious if there’s a way to include that within the widget itself. *Not the chat, just a button (similar to external link) that will call the function to open the chat. Does anyone have experience with this?

Idea suggestion information form

I would like to change the form that users need to populate when submitting suggestions, often the information provided is nto sufficient for me to make an informed decision on the value of the feature request to ether the requested or to the wider community.I would like to requst that the submitter provides :What job are you trying to do?Why is that job not possible right now?What is the impact to you of having this feature available?What is the impact to your clients of having this feature available? I want to move away from the clients providing solutions, and more move to the problem that they are trying to solve. Any guidance or advice appreciated. Thank you

Variables in CC system emails -- if they aren't on the list, do they still work?

​@Julian -- I found this guide on the available variables for use in system emails. Thank you!My questionI’m seeing some discrepancies in the Welcome to the Group email, specifically around the {username} and {group_url} tokens. The {username} token available in the dropdown appears differently from the one in the HTML ({recipient_username}), and the {group_url} token isn’t available at all.If we create an email (I’ll be using the CS email template builder and dropping in the code, since the CS template builder is much more robust than the CC template tool) and include those additional variables found in the HTML, will that work?If not, could the default HTML shown here please be changed to the correct version so we don’t get the wrong idea when we’re creating our email templates?​@revathimenon 👀

Phrase Forum metatags vs. Branding / SEO & Social?

I founded this by accident and I started to wonder, what is diffence between these two settings:Control → Phrases → Module: Forum metatagsvs.Admin panel → Theme → Branding → SEO & SOCIAL: Title  At first glance both looks same, but if so why there are two different places to define metatags?

Can you change the text on the report button when flagging posts?

Is there a way to change the button text for the ‘Report’ button when you submit a flag? If you use the phrases toggle you can change pretty much everything else in that window, but not the text of the button?

How do you engage your leadership team in Community?

Hi Community gang!I’d love to hear about how you engage your leaders with your community. What has worked, what hasn’t worked.Any shortcuts for quick results? Our CEO is invested in social media and community which is great,  but I don’t want him having to dupe posts - time consuming and inauthentic.  We’re launching an advocacy program soon so I’m thinking of creating a monthly post specific to this group in community.Would love to hear what you do with LT + Community.Thanks

Disapproving/Erasing unregistered users from user overview

Hi Team,  Is there an option to create a custom page of pop up window kind of an option to input (Optional information) on why an Admin/Moderator is erasing or disapproving an user who has tried to register to a our community. If we can create it how? and will this information be stored in the meta data.

Sticky´s arent sticky any more

I've noticed that topic is set as a sticky but it doesn´t appear top of the page. This occurs in our community and I looked some other as well and problem appears there as well.

Bulk update the status of all ideas

Good morning, I am taking over our community and and updating the flow of status’ for ideas.Currently all open suggestions are in a status of “Received” which is the default status.I would like to bulk update the status of all these items to the next status in the flow “Reviewed- open” so my clients knows that they have been reviewed. Is this possible? If it is not possible, is it possible to change the Default status, so I can ceate a new status for all new ideas?  Thanks a lotjon

Is it possible to GET Custom User Profile Fields via API?

Hi there, as the title says:We wanted to know if it’s possible to GET Custom User Profile Fields via API?Specifically with the “Fetches all Users” Call, but generally speaking as well. If I do a user export or a Segment Export, I will see the Custom User Profile Fields. I would like to ask if this is possible via API as well. Use case: We might ask some our users upon registration to opt in to a different category of newsletters, and to our UX Research Programs. We might do this with a Radio Button and/or Checkbox. I wanted to push certain user contacts into an e.g. Mailing List or into Salesforce (via API or via Zapier) based on whether/not they selected which checkbox / button (upon signup or afterwards in their profile).Thank you very much in advance!

csv Export of Segment: What is the logic behind "Last activity" & "Last visit"?

Hi,When pulling a segment csv export I have 2 columns, I don’t understand what they stand for. Q: What is meant by “last activity”?Q: What is meant with “last visit”? (Last visit is before last activity.)  In the segments overview “Last activity” is defined as when someone last viewed something on the Communtiy platform:  As only a few members have entered a “Last visit” timestamp. For many it is empty and I don’t understand why. The first date timestamps are years old, so it doesn’t seem like this functionality was added recently and only applies since.I have exported the csv from a segment in order to find out who registered and never came back after registration day, and we have lost early on in their Member Journey. Best, Lena

Multiple search terms in Content Overview?

Hi everyone!  I’m currently trying to create a custom view in our content overview and was wondering if we’re able to input multiple search terms and utilize some of the typical web search engine tricks. For example, using “OR” (ex. “apples” OR oranges”) or “AND” (“apples” AND “oranges”). Some other examples here. Or do we have to create different views for each term?

Is there a way to identify any community members who have unsubscribed from Community emails

Hi everyone, I have 800 members in my community, many of whom are not active. I an in the process of creating a campaign to remind the members of the community and encourage those who have not engaged to do so. However I dont know how many of the 800 members would receive the emails from the campaign as they may have unsubscribed from receiving emails. Is there a way to see who has unsubscribed so I can reach out to them personally, and if they are unsubscribed is there a way for me to resubscrube them? Thanks a lot

Customization of "Related Topics" header

Hi folks, I have a low priority, nice to have, not need ask from my branding colleagues: They are asking me to differentiate the text on the “Related Topics” section of our community. Playing around with the the theme branding, I know that I need to edit the “header” option to load the color, however, I don't want to apply the color to all the other sections.  Does anyone have a code for customizing the “Related Topics” section. I’m wondering if I make it a little larger or underline that might satisfy the request as well and I wont need to change color.  Below is an example of the Gainsight “Related Topics” section:

How do I default cookies to allow embedded content?

How do I set “Complete” cookies to be the default for all users? Also, how do I make cookie settings appear via banner to meet GDPR regulations when the user first logs in?
