Hey everyone! We have articles and discussions with a lot of updates and comments that happens frequently. When you enter these topics, you have the default sorting order as “Oldest first”. This works perfectly for new or shorter topics in my opinion.Of course you can change the sorting once you’ve opened up the topic, but I think that this option might be overlooked a lot of the times.I would love an option to toggle the default sorting option for comments on specific articles or topics, so that users that want to see the latest update in an ongoing topic/article gets that presented at first glance.
TIL that you can add CTA Type-specific Reasons, Statuses, etc only on the Global level; not on particular Relationship Types. i.e. on Relationship Type A, I want a new CTA Status for CTA Type B. The only options I have are:Make the Status globally available for that CTA Type Make the Status “locally” available for all CTA Types within that Relationship TypeWhereas if I were doing it at the global level, I could make that Status only available for that CTA Type. Why can’t I do it one level deeper?
I recently found out via a support ticket that sometime in the recent past, we stopped writing back custom attributes to the AO Participants table in order to accommodate an “enhancement” of allowing the mapping of 50 custom fields of any type (rather than limiting admins to 6 string fields, 3 date fields, etc.). I think we should fix this and do so soon. I have to think most admins would much rather have the ability to easily report on these custom field mappings if the tradeoff is being able to map more fields that they won’t be able to report on anyway. The “solution” I was given was to download a CSV of the participants from the program itself, load that CSV to the MDA, and then join it back to the AO Participants table. This is not scalable. Admins want to be able to map more custom fields because they want to report on them.
With the move to Horizon reporting some very important filters have been “depreciated” which makes some reporting now impossible. In old-style you can choose from lots of “Current and” options; This is particularly useful for financial reporting and forecasting, e.g. show me all customers renewing this month and next month. But with the move to Horizon those options are no longer available, and instead there’s just Last X or Next X, which excludes the current X. E.g if I chose Next 2 Months, I see August and September, when what I want is July and August; WIthin Report Builder it is possible to achieve what we want by adding two filters and OR’ing them together, but that doesn’t work for global filters on Dashboards. These are really important filters to have available, PLEASE bring them back.
You’ve got a great topic that’s really well indexed. You’ve optimised the best answer so it’s still accurate. But there are comments below that are really old. You don’t want to get rid of them permanently, but realistically, the more recent ones are more helpful. Why not auto hide comments after x date. The user can select ‘show all comments’ if they want.
I just discovered that Gainsight automatically turns off your rules after they’ve failed a certain amount of times. Not sure where/when this was communicated, but my bad for not knowing. At any rate, we had an integration outage and I received tons of failure emails, and these notifications got lost in the midst. Instead of, or in addition to these emails, can the deactivation alerts be a PX popup engagement when admins log in? One little email doesn’t seem to be sufficient for this type of automatic action - if your rules are getting deactivated without your intervention, GS needs to blast people about it.
What is the reason for requiring an End Date on the participant sync for a JO? It’s great as an option if you have a known duration you want it to run, but if an admin has a need to stop a sync, they will take an action to stop the sync. Instead, you have to select a random meaningless date in the future that is not easily tracked anywhere (see Heather’s post) making it impossible to manage and as that date passes, your programs have stopped unintentionally and unknowingly.
In the Rules Engine, there are many use cases where it would be helpful to be able to output a date as well as email. Right now, we can only output booleans, numbers, or string fields.
We had a use case to understand what is the least metrics out of 10 different measures fields on a row of record and we couldn’t find a respective formula on rules under Number or Statistics ? Instead we developed alternative workaround like replacing every field value to multiples of 10s 100’s 1000’s and then summed up to say under which color category do they fall part (mapping the least to RED). If there was a Minimum or Maximum or Mean kind of formulas would have made it ease for these request.
Hello, recently I demoed the Rentention Analysis report to an E level group, and they brought up the idea that it would be beneficial to see the users in the specific weeks as a drilldown. For example, within this set: We’d like to see the users themselves that fell into that week, to further identify other traits they may share. Is that possible, and I’m just missing a function?
I saw this issue today when I was take to a 403 page. There were multiple menu items that appeared on the right. They all functioned correctly but there’s a few too many. This is in the SFDC version. I saw this page when I tried to look at a Timeline activity that I do not have access too.
If you have a Spotify account you will know that at the end of the year, you get an email that outlines What You Listened to Most on Spotify This Year - called Spotify Wrapped.Might be interesting to send something similar to folks who participate on our community or a general one that the community manager can use for the entire site and share on a year-end blog.Do you think this would be useful? If yes, please up vote this idea.
Hello Amigos,I was shocked to see this to be an enhancement. Currently in the GS NXT version, the people maps search list includes both active and inactive contacts from the company person table. Which is odd cause we would not want to build an org chart from inactive clients. Not sure if this is an easy fix but this is a high priority for us. @kate_peter @kate_green Best Regards,DarshanaADP#sad little gainsight admin
During last weekend the reactions of one of our valued members were picked up by the Spam Filter. This user is very active, trustworthy, and functions as a sort of brand ambassador on our Community. In short it would not make any sense that the spam filter intervenes. We are looking for a way to exclude certain users and/or user roles from spam filter without promoting that user to an Super User.
Currently, the “scale reversed” checkbox in the chart settings for heatmap-style visualizations just mirrors the legend (if it is turned on) but does nothing to the color assignments in the reports. I’m not sure what the intention behind this behavior is, but it would be nice if that button instead inverted the color assignments. Ex: in a normal scale set to 0-10, 0 = Green and 10 = Red. When the Scale Reversed checkbox is clicked, that should switch to 0 = Red and 10 = Green. This would be quicker and easier than changing the colors for the top and bottom of the range manually, and would be a more intuitive behavior for an option labelled “scale reversed”.
Once upon a time a there was a community concerning writing into Mutli-Select Picklist 2 years ago and its still in progress. https://community.gainsight.com/gainsight/topics/writing-to-multi-select-picklist-in-rules-engine-ta... There are quite a few customers that have talked about using the multi-select picklist, but was stopped short by it's limited behavior. It gets treated like a single value picklist when any rules attempt to set it. Also, you are unable to clear or append to it properly. A use case here, a customer has multiple line items of enabled products, I would like to set the Multi Picklist to say that this customer has these products enabled. Also once one product goes inactive I would like to refresh it with current multi select values. Rules doesn't handle this use case really well with current multi-picklist functionality. Sure you can use checkboxes, but it gets really messy and not in a neat package. Also Customer tags can't be deleted once added via rules.
I have had multiple CSMs complain about, and ask me to change the display format for CTA Due Date in the Horizon Cockpit to ONLY display the date, and not the “Due in x days” format on the closer dates. Please add the ability for the user to change the way this field is displayed. If that is too heavy a lift, please give the ADMIN the ability to change this globally.
When building or modifying notification emails it would be helpful to have a test feature that would do more than the current preview and would replace the tokens with test data, or at least callout if tokens are valid or invalid. Right now you have to wait until the event triggers and during that time improperly formatted emails might be sent out to other users.
Why would we need Word/ Google docs to do design content? How about collaborative authoring (w version control) on the platform?
We use the relationship feature to segment our 'offers'. Product 1, Product 2, Product 3,...,Product 10 -- are all different relationships. We sometimes have meetings that will cover 2-3 of those products and we log meetings in our timeline view. Enhancement: We would like the ability to log a meeting against multiple relationships. For example, a CSM may have a call that discusses Product 2, 4, 7. We would want to be able to log that call against each of those relationships.
Hi All,I recently had a rule that I created that had quite a large number of steps including 4 different load actions. The rule was completing fine in test, however when running live it was not loading contacts to the person nor was it providing any error rather just a blank column in the export. When working with support they identified this as a system field that I accidentally selected to attempt to load the data into. Is it possible to add more logging to help enhance the troubleshooting process? We burnt about 3 days waiting for support to get back and troubleshoot this and it seems that it could have been drastically more streamlined should we have better logging like “Cannot load to system field”
I was hoping that when SF Connector replaced Gainsight Connect, it would also include information about WHAT records were pulled in by the jobs, as Gainsight Connect did not. That does not appear to be the case. As I previously stated on that post: "Sometimes you run into situations where something was a 'success' but it didn't perform the action you actually expected it to OR there was an issue of timing and you need to go back and track down where the disconnect happened. Success or Failure, we should always be able to track events that happened in detail."
In order to improve the Gainsight administrative experience, there should be an action in a rule to Send an Email to a specific email address. Today, I get an email only if a rule succeeds or fails. But what if there is a specific criteria that to which I, as the GS Admin (or Data Analyst, etc) want to be alerted? i.e. unable to set the segment because ARR was not populated or something like that. I [i]can have it trigger a CTA to me - but this clutters up the Cockpit/C360 with a bunch of operational CTAs. I don't want to create a bunch of Journey programs either. A) it's double work to have to create a program to email me if a specific criteria related to a Bionic Rule is not met 😎 I don't want to clutter up my Journeys either. I liken this to a NOC where alerts get emailed to analysts/admins when specific thresholds/events, i.e. high CPU usage, network intrusion detections, etc. occur This is somewhat related to https://community.gainsight.com/gainsight/topics/-send-email-action-type-in-bionic-rules but I'm specifically talking about sending internal emails to the admin rather than outbound emails.
