There are several ways to move content on the community. But it is not possible to move comments to ideas. Use case:a user gives product feedback as a comment to a question. another user piggybacks on that and directly replies to that comment in order to discuss about that idea.i now want to convert the first comment into a new idea, and that would work. But i cannot move the second comment to that new idea.
It would be very helpful to be able to filter this Ideas page in Control by Author, Publish Date, and Last Activity. I know we can sort by the dates, but for example, if we are just trying to look at the ideas published in Q2, we have to go through the entire list and just select those ideas. Similarly with the Last Activity date, I know we have the ability currently to filter by Last Status Change, but sometimes we need more detail - when was the last response or comment on an idea, not a Status Change.
Hi there,Some feedback about the new ideation module. Now:when we want to merge idea B to idea A, all votes are being transferred but anyone can still vote on idea B both ideas get a new comment for me (moderator) with the link to one another. Why is that? it is not possible to add an actual comment from idea B to idea A. Desired behavior when I merge idea B to idea A:all votes are being transferred a new comment from idea B is merged to the old thread (idea A) as it would normally do in any other category (remaining the original author) that new idea B post gets deleted just like it is happening in other categories. Idea B’s URL redirects to this comment in the idea A’s thread.
I love the bidirectional conversion capabilities Insided offers for most topic types. However, this one is missing. You can convert articles into Product Updates (and questions/conversations through multiple steps like outlined here), but you cannot go in reverse with Product Updates to articles or other content types. Use Case: New features or programs announced via Product Updates that should eventually be moved into standard Knowledge Base or Community articles. For example, I will use a product update blog to announce new gamification features (new badges or ways to earn points). The Product Updates module is where we publish our latest news and updates, including community. After awhile, those updates get buried in the Updates feed and are no longer “news” or “updates,” but a standard part of the Community experience. As such, it’d be ideal to convert them to an article and move them to the category that hosts all our other community documentation. Sure, cross-linking, republishing, and quoting text are all possibilities, but they 1.) take time, 2.) clutter search and the overall user experience.
Alphabetical order does not make sense for our Product Areas. We want to be able to order the Product Areas in a custom order.
We add external URLs within our knowledge base articles. Would like to have an easier option to have the link open in a new tab when user clicks on it. Like the same functionally as the Mega Menu. A checkbox to open into a new tab. Would be great on the screen when we are adding the link in the article.
My use cases:I’d like to set up an alert for negative content helpfulness votes so that I am immediately aware and can review the content I’d love to gamify completing the content helpfulness survey, a webhook could be the trigger to award points via the API However, I believe I was previously told that these votes are currently anonymous, so that might need to change. Regardless, it would be good to have the option to monitor content helpfulness activity via custom setups based on webhooks. Otherwise, you’re left to discover negative ratings on periodic reviews of the content analytics.
As the title says.We receive a lot of duplicate Ideas, so we do a lot of merging. When we merge, we also close the thread in order to funnel additional comments into the consolidated Idea. But that duplicate Idea can still receive upvotes.Adding on that, the duplicate ideas still show up in the search, and that discoverability might lead to upvotes on those duplicate threads. We use the upvote tracker to see who we need to follow up on for each feature, so having new upvotes on closed threads makes it difficult for us one reliable upvote counter/list for each Idea.
(Personally, I consider this a bug, but I can’t recall it ever working, so adding it as an idea for improvement.)In Topic Moderation (Control), it would be great if existing moderator tags popped up to be selected like Public Tags do with (most) topics in the moderation view. Nice UX for selecting from existing public tags; desired experience for moderator tags Frustrating UX for having to type out moderator tags even if it’s been used frequently Impact: Easy of use Standardization / data validation - reducing human error that comes from typos Awareness of pre-established moderator tag optionsMy use cases:I make heavy use of moderator tags for two purposesTriggering Zapier automations Reporting breakouts (segmenting question types, tracking escalations, etc)The more use cases I build, the more I need to reference my list of moderator tags to get it exactly right. And the more likely it is that I’ll make a typo on tags like “troubleshooting.”
As an example, we have this article that was originally published a year ago, used across various comms, but was updated in the last couple of weeks with new information. Could a ‘Last Updated’ field be added to this top section? Thanks.
We have articles in our Knowledge Base that need to be updated, but it may take more time than the author has at one time. Similar to git version control, we want to create a new ‘branched’ version of the content, edit it in a draft state until it’s ready, then merge the changes with the published version.
@bjoern_schulze It sure would be nice to be able to customize those labels! As it stands now, it can make infrequent article authors think those are the only options to choose from, when in reality we only use one of them.Any plans to make that possible?
Hi there, following this discussionI am also submitting this as an idea. in our B2B / Customer Success Community we organise a thorough Community Cleanup every spring, with several steps. For content older >6 months: Check if the content/answer is up-to-date, and add a follow-up if something changedThe above point is very tedious and involves a lot of manual work. As our Community and its content grow, we’re not sure how to tackle this.Either we keep on checking every single topic and make sure old content is up-to-date (what we’ve been doing)Another option that we may consider in the future is to kind of “dismiss” old topics and/or add a label/disclaimer that it may be out of date, (when i say content i mean mostly User-generated Questions)→ which would save a lot of work. If a user wants to ask that question again, they can ask a new topic or more simply just follow up in a comment to check if anything changed. For example, the Guardian has this feature:Basically, by putting this warning they can free themselves from liability, they don’t have to update the content anymore and the reader knows that the content could be outdated. Re: my idea: I am flexible on how it will be approached. This could happen either automatically or even in bulk.To think sideways, even just the option to set any kind of “label”, “note”, “callout” or “warning” in bulk, either automatically or by multi-select, would do the job for this idea.Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
We are working on building an API connection to between our Ideas module and our RnD platform (TFS) and our Helpdesk (SysAid) and for a clean easy integration we were looking to create dedicated fields to match what is needed in our Rnd and HD platform. The capability is available for posts but not for Ideas module can it be added to Ideas as well? Working with Moderator tags have the potential of becoming messy fast
Hey all,I use Insided to publish release notes that will link out to documentation also hosted on the platform. I will use the Insided articles inside of email campaigns and in-product messaging. There’s not currently a smooth way to grab the link. Here’s the workflow:Create a draft article Check it out in preview, send that around internally (great feature!) Publish the article, grab the link “Trash” the article (this should be changed to “Archive” or “Unpublish” as it’s not truly deleted - scares people!) Remember to re-publish it on the relevant date, as you cannot schedule an “untrash”If we could grab the URL ahead of time, then we could schedule the article publication and we would be off to the races.P.S - When in an article preview, clicking “Control” takes you to the general Control environment, not to the specific draft you are working on. Would be fab if we could get back to the editor of that draft.
There is something that has been bothering us for a longer time, but I never set myself to make a idea post about it, until now (there is an old topic, thinking this was a bug). So when you merge topics, the old topics get deleted. This is not a problem for us, but a problem for Google. They will show a 404 in all the pages you can still find. Now this in itself will go away in time as Google doesn't like 404 pages, could be a few days, could be a few weeks. However, in the meantime, you will be losing a lot of traffic to these undesirable journeys. Therefore I would like to see the platform create a redirect on the old url (the topic that you are merging to the other topic and will disappear afterwards). Then Google will also redirect all traffic that clicks on the old topic, to the new topic that you merged it too. So, am I missing something or is this a good idea? (I searched but didn't find any other idea related to this, only temp or ‘in the moment' fixes to remedy the indexing, this is not solving the problem though, just a workaround) Cheers,
In the Control Panel we can filter the content in many ways. One way that currently isn’t possible is to only show topics without (or with) a moderator’s reply. That’s why we propose a new advanced filter so we can create topic lists that only consist of topics where no moderator has been active (i.e. replying) yet. This will help moderators to not miss any topics that could need their attention.
When a moderator moves content, e.g. moves a topic from one category to another or moves a comment from one topic to another (or a new one), there is no indicator in the frontend. Currently moderators manually add comments to log their action(s). We propose that any moving of content will create an automatic information in the frontend to show what action has been done. The benefits: transparency less effort for moderators to manually give the information about moving content better learning effect for users about desired actions → users see that content has been moved and are less likely to make the same mistake (again)
Hi guys, I would love to be able to change the color of the read / unread content on the platform. At the moment the ‘read’ color is still very dark so it’s not that easy to see the difference. Can this functionality be added to control as a way to self-service? :) Tagging @Yoeri for a reply :) Cheers, Ditte
When searching for ideas, the status of the idea is not shown after the title. This would be helpful to determine if you want to click it. It is already shown in the actual list of ideas, so why not when searching for them?
I think it'd be very useful if we could tag all users that replied in a topic - so that we can provide an update without being a best answer (which sometimes infuriates users due to the fact a bug may not be fixed at that point). Sometimes during the course of a bug, our devs need further details for the users being affected. In this case, a 'reply to all' mechanism would be an elegant an efficent way to reach out to everyone in a determined topic. Should be relatively easy to implement, I assume
It would be great to have an option where product teams can display their product roadmaps and users within community can vote/ share feedback and the product teams can also prioritize and work on their roadmap plans with some strategic user feedback and direction.
