I would suggest adding the ability to restrict the use of spaces or special characters in community usernames. We have a standard FirstL username convention that we enforce for community members, and if they enter a user name that is already in use, we ask that they enter a number at the end. I am finding that may users are creating duplicate user names that we must update because they are adding spaces or punctuation (periods): Example: JohnF, John F, John F., JohnF. If we could restrict the use of spaces and punctuation, it would reduce the amount of time we spend updating usernames to ensure that each member has an unique user name.
In advance of the mandatory release this weekend, we turned on the 360 Sidebar. I generally like the concept but much of the execution of it has left me scratching my head.I am not wanting for space in the Gainsight tab, but when I am in the 360 sidebar and open the Calls to Action tab, it defaults to this: Why on earth is most of the real estate given to the Company>Relationship column, followed by the Status column? I know what Company I’m on, I just clicked on the name! That’s the entire point of this thing.I guess you could have really long statuses, but it is pretty embarrassing that CTA name has such a small footprint. Even less if you’ve starred a CTA. How is this useful for anyone? I’ve even changed the column sizes and it just resets the next time I open the 360.
Something I’ve been wishing for lately is for Gainsight to function like Salesforce when it comes to searching GSIDs. (i.e. in Salesforce, if you search an 18-digit ID just using your base URL - xxx.lightning.force.com/18-digit ID, it takes you directly to that record, whether it’s a case, opportunity, contact, account, user, etc.) For example, when I search just the GSID for an individual timeline activity, I should be able to paste it at the end of my org URL (xxx.gainsightcloud.com/GSID) and have it take me directly there. Same with the following: Person GSIDs Company Person GSIDs Company GSIDs - direct to C360 Relationship GSIDs - direct to R360 CTA GSIDs Success Plan GSIDs User GSIDsAnd I’m sure I’m leaving some stuff out. Bonus points if we could figure this out for those of us who login via Salesforce, but I would settle for just seeing this functionality in direct-to-NXT logins. Right now, when I try to search for GSIDs using the method above (xxx.gainsightcloud.com/GSID), I get a 404 error.
Hi teamIt would be great if we could have more control over failure notifications in Rules Engine for both rules and rule chains. The options for Connector jobs where you can select from Success, Failure or Partial Success in any combination is better than the Success/Fail choice in Rules Engine. We use Gainsight failure notifications to trigger helpdesk tickets, so it’s preferable for us to only have this happening when they’re actually needed. More control over when failure emails are triggered would help with this. Thanks very much!
Posting this on-behalf of one customer - If you click on the name of a customer from Cockpit OR if you search for a new customer at the top of an existing C360 page, a new browser tab opens for that specific customer. This is creating a ton of new tabs and several of their users are requesting the ability to disable the creation of new tabs every time they click on a link in Gainsight.
Hi there,It appears that the Gainsight Connector will REJECT updates that would set the value to null in Salesforce. The context : Real Time Sync on CSM (Gainsight) to Customer Success Manager (SFDC) (via a derived mapping as we look to sync the SFDC User ID of the CSM) Single Directional : Gainsight → SFDC This makes no sense since my setup for this field is that of a single directional sync. Meaning if the field becomes blank in Gainsight, there’s no reason it should be rejected by Gainsight because Gainsight “thinks”. If it becomes blank, there is a reason and Gainsight should honor it and push the null to Salesforce. The request is to lift these silly bans that make no sense and are forcing us to create a side architecture with Real-Time Rules to address the issue. Creating complexity where there is no need. #adminqol ThanksA
For all reports built in report builder that are on a dashboard, you can click the 3-dot "more" menu to add those reports to Gainsight Home. However, I just added a Scorecard Widget to a dashbiard and I do not see that option in the menu. According to ticket 326173 this is how Gainsight is intentionally designed and an enhancement request. Please update the system so all items visbile to users on a dashboard can be added to Gainsight Home using the 3-dot menu.
Some of our CSMs are asking if the time next to the date can be removed when logging an activity, with one even stating, “It seems largely irrelevant and just more fields to fill.” They would love for it to be removed. For what it’s worth, there was an older post about this as well:
Hi Team, It would be very helpful if we could add the ability to restrict deletion permissions of Customer Goals on C360 much like we have for CTA deletion. This would help Admins to make sure end users do not accidentally delete important Customer Goals.
Would anyone else like the ability to create events for hidden groups? Looks like it’s coming, just not sure when so creating this idea for more visibility. Here’s some additional context. Thanks!
I suspect this might exist as a hidden event, but I’d love to have access as a customer. I’m most interested in when questions move, but I think it’d be good to add for all topic types.
I asked this question in the #ask-gainsight slack channel in the Global Admin slack channel but got no response, so I’m making it an idea post. Why does “Type” on Timeline not function as a picklist? This doesn’t seem to make any sense. It makes filtering quite annoying and reporting in general much harder than it needs to be. If Call To Action and other similar system objects in the MDA can have status/type/reason/etc function as picklists, why not Type on Timeline?
Please add preview text to articles posted in the Knowledge Base! Preview text would be really helpful to drive users to click on an article. It looks so sad without preview text 😔
At the moment it is great that you can change the start and end date of an objective / task in a success plan. But at the moment if you close an objective / task it will close it for the date that you closed it. In some cases some historical goals may want to be added and completed when they were completed (e.g last month) I would love to see the close date to be editable to avoid this extended line in the Success Plan:
This is a follow up to @DannyPancratz’ question And to this idea:Over the last years we’ve been keeping up with a very good moderation routine and we aim to get all questions and best answer. This has caused our Help Other tab to look like this: Our Help others tab shows the most recent questions but also old questions that are not already closed. We do archiving in our community but it’d help us to be able to exclude some topics from Help us tab based on their age 🙂
Currently when you add action to a transformation or dataset, it simply ends. We are unable to use the result that is coming from the action to update BACK the source table. This is forcing us to do illogical, round about methods to link the source to the action. For e.g.We are creating a SF Campaign record based on a Gainsight Table. Unfortunately we dont have a place to store the GSID in the Campaign table in Salesforce. We are also unable to update the resultant SFID even though we can see it in the results!! If we can make the “Action” as a Chain then the result will be available to update back the source table
Last few days I've been running and re-running a lot of rules in test mode and it becomes a bit cumbersome (not to mention prone to error) to have to go change and tweak the Setup Rule filters when I perhaps only want to test the rule against one particular account or some other account/customer info field. I thought it sure would be helpful if, when I check the "test run" box on the Run Rule screen, I had the option of setting a quick filter from the Account or Customer Info object which would add to/override the filters in the rule just for this test run only. Something like this: Certainly not a requirement, but a "wish list" item.
It’d be great if we could switch an email template between Fixed or Fluid and vice versa after it’s already created. Sometimes I have users who support me in loading in email content and they’ll choose the wrong one, and we have to just recreate the template from scratch again.
I’m looking at the various Renewals Center objects related to GS Opportunity today, and I’ve found that the Descriptions are blank and locked for editing. This is kind of a drag because not everything is obvious (Booking Type on GS Opportunity, for instance, may not align directly with terminology used in other systems) and mapping fields is a pain as a result. Someone helpfully provided me with this: https://support.gainsight.com/gainsight_nxt/Gainsight_Object_Glossary/CS_Object_Glossary/Renewal_Center_Objects Which is fantastic. Those descriptions could be added to the object schema in Data Management, surfacing them for all platform admins without the need for bookmarks to obscure data dictionary articles. How about it? Data Management for GS Opportunity > Stage Field Definition in Glossary Article
It’s been discovered that the ability to highlight and copy information in cells on the Cockpit page (e.g. highlight the company name and copy it) is no longer available with the latest release of NXT.I reached out to Gainsight Support and they’ve informed me that a fix is planned for the next release, but at this time there is no workaround.Mostly posting this for posterity in case other users have noticed this and are curious what’s going on.
We had some recent issues with Data Designers where it would have been nice to be able to view easily in the list view the last time a DD was run. I can see the next scheduled date and the Last Run details, but I’m unable to see the Last Run DATE without clicking into the Execution History, and that only works if it’s a recent run. Would be great to be able to add a column to see the last time it ran as well. This would also be super useful other areas of the product with list views as well (Rules Engine, JO)
