The current functionality of Next Action Due date is that it shows the CTAs Due date when there are no tasks, but when there are tasks it shows the next task due. This works when there are either no tasks are there are open tasks. However, when all tasks are complete, it stays locked in to the last tasks due date. This can lead to misleading UI where the CTA due date may be in the future, but since the tasks due date is in the past, the Next Action Due date shows red, which tends to indicate that something is overdue. I think it would be better if the Next Action Due date reverted to the CTAs Due Date when all tasks are complete. That way if the CTA date was in the future, the next Action Due Date would be in the future as well. Otherwise if it was in the past, the red indication would be an accurate representation that something is indeed overdue.
When I select a field that is part of a lookup table, not the native table (for example, I am building a report from Call to Action and I select fields from Company) the report builder changes the name of the field from its actual value to the table name, then the field name. This is adding unnecessary time to my day because I have to go in and remove the prefix from all of the fields. If I want to build a report w/ a bunch of Company field names, I have to go and edit each field to remove “Company” from each of the field names now. Sometimes I add up to 20 fields from the Company object. Please REVERT BACK to before when this did not occur.
We have a number of colleagues that are listed in the Person object and associated to a dummy Company. When these colleagues and external customers appear in a calendar meeting and you click add activity the widget is identifying them as external and setting the company to the dummy and ignoring the actual external customers on the meeting. Can the widget ignore those Persons where the email domain matches that of our GS Instance domain. If our instance is XYZ.gainsightcloud.com and the Person record has an email of JSmith@XYZ.com. It would set that user to internal and ignore it when selecting the Company or allow a drop down and let the user select which company they want if there is potentially more than one. Right now it is prepopulated and you can’t change it.
I was speaking with a customer: Anthony from Degreed, and he had a rather interesting use case to ask me about. In the past few releases, Gainsight introduced Cockpit/Calendar integration for Gsuite and Outlook. It is a great feature that writes CTA info onto an external calendar.. but currently this functions standard operation is a one way push from GS to the external Calendar. There does not appear to be bidirectional capability in this features current function. Anthony wanted to see if there was a way to use this cockpit calendar integration to pull meeting details from his external calendar and automatically create timeline activities. His main asks were: if there is any way to sync calendar events INTO Gainsight today. if you know of any possible partner solutions or workaround if there is a plan/roadmap item to introduce this functionalityI did float this ask internally and did get a few responses. This ask did seem to resonate with some of my other customer facing counterparts, so this ask does seem to warrant additional use case conversations.
USE CASE: With the current PX design, we don’t have the ability to use the “Number of users and Number of visits” attributes as the filtering fields(In account filters). Even though they are standard/default attributes, we cannot use them in filters. So it would be difficult if we have to filter out some customers/accounts who have more than certain number (x number) of users. For e.g: I want to filter out accounts who have more than 100 users. This can be achieved only if we can filter out by using the “Number of users” attribute as a field in Account filters. Here is the sample image,
To Whom This Concerns: Can we make Email template building more user friendly with drag and drop features. I, like all the other user, have so many issues with HTML due to extra tags or additional coding that makes the scripts long and hard to manage. It makes the task extremely difficult for companies that use a great deal of images for customer emails. I also would love to be able to allow users to add and edit their own email with ease. Currently this is bottlenecked to only people who are more familiar with HTML. Our marketing team, communications team, insights team, AND MORE all have to ask one admin to construct email templates for their JO, email assist, Playbooks, etc. I love email assist and all the reasons above deter people from using. Help me by making this a more user friendly tool. Best Regards, Darshana Shah
Hi All,We have a use case - Our CSMs use Gainsight ,and our Sales team use our CRM - Hubspot. As there is no direct way of syncing Timeline Notes from Gainsight to Hubspot ,we use External APIs to do this, based on the below Hubspot API documentation:https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/engagements/get_engagementTo give our Sales Team visibility to the Notes added by the CSM ,especially in case of a Back to Sales(If the customer is not a fit)Based the this doc - to create a new note in Hubspot ,i should use POST - using which I am able to send newly created notes from GS to HS.However to update a note ,I should use PATCH - However i do not see this option in the External Actions .How would you recommend updating edited Notes from Gainsight to Hubspot via APIs(or any other option)?
Currently if you try to create a timeline activity from the calendar widget and need to switch the company name it wipes out all the internal attendees. We have some users who are in multiple accounts so it would be great to keep the internal attendees when a CSM needs to switch the account where they are creating the timeline activities. This way they don’t have to re-add all internal attendees if switching the accounts.
I wanted to create a Simple Program in JO that pulls from a Data Designer. My last step of the Data Designer is a Formula Field (string type) that uses a Case statement to grab the Company ID from one field, unless it’s null, in which case it grabs the Company ID from a different field. When setting up a Simple Program, it tells me that the Data Designer needs a Company ID field. It has one, it’s just that it’s a string-type instead of an ID-type.
It would be a great enhancement to be able to generate a link to a Success Plan from within the app, that could be shared directly by the CSM in whatever format they choose, similar to how you can generate and copy a link to share a Google Doc. For customers who don't or can't whitelabel and want to ensure reliable sharing of Success Plans, this feature would be incredibly valuable.
For various reasons, it would be useful if I could somehow filter users where their last activity was on their registration date.i.e. I basically want to know when a user signed up, tuned in, dropped out - never to return. That way I could target them for an email campaign, create some metrics based on that scenario, or monitor them as potential spammers.Currently, there’s no way to filter like this, unless I use the API and write some scripts to do it.I think it would help towards this idea, too:
We have a use case with our risk CTAs to add a sub-reason for more specificity based on the type of risk. We need this additional field to be dependent on the reason field (which is a GSID field type) not a secondary/duplicate reason drop down. There are too many reasons to just list them all in a single reason menu. Please expand the usage of the dependency field functionality to include GSID fields as the control field. Thank you!
This has been requested by a lot of our CSM’s. Currently, we can create org charts if we know the top-down org structure. It would be helpful however to create create multiple divisions, departments, and teams in a single view if we are building out the organizational structure from the bottom up. As of now you have to do this in different drop downs in in People Maps, but would like the ability to view this in one view.
I tried searching for this idea, and couldn’t find anything so apologies if this is a dup request! We had two users yesterday put in support tickets related to why they couldn’t use a specific username. One of the user’s first name was Shelly that was getting blocked due to the keyword “hell.”The current error message doesn’t specify what part of the attempted name is the issue which was causing frustration as users tried several combos and variations without success. My idea would be to add to the message “username can’t be picked as it is using the blocked word “insert here.”
Hi everyone! Back in business.I am in the process of building a somewhat “looped” program to support a long-haul technical engagement with customers to track their progress with a particular project. In this engagement, I will be evaluating what the customer is up to and when they are idle (scenario in pink below), I want to send an escalation email to sales. However, after the escalation email is sent, I’d like to bring them back to the exact same evaluate stage (so I don’t have to rebuild the evaluate stage multiple times). It seems I can’t branch my delay step back to my evaluate stage, because the stage is upstream in the same “branch”.It would be extremely helpful to be able to send a participant back to the same evaluate stage so we don’t have to rebuild the same evaluate stage multiple times.Summary of the ask:Allow linking a JO step to an upstream evaluate stage Business Case: to support re-evaluating a condition after performing an escalation, to save build time, to save maintenance time and risk of error Thanks! A
Can we have consistent selection criteria across filters and engagement audiences? An example is on Accounts Explorer, the “Create Date” field is populated by PX. When you go into the engagement audience, the “Create Field” is not available for selection. It’s cumbersome to have to tell developers to pass in a custom attribute on the identify call when it’s already available. Thank you!
Hi Community, The recent release of the patch enabling the execution order of rule actions is a great enhancement; however, to further improve the UX for admins a couple of tweaks could be made.Currently on the setup action page, the order in which actions are sorted appears to be with a string sort, as opposed to an integer sort (which would seem more logical). The result of this means if you have 10+ actions from a dataset, the order would be 1, 10, 11, 2, 3, etc. This really works against a UX principle of making information easy for the user to digest; sure, the numbering is correct and the run order will be correct, but it would be nice to see the numerical order followed here in the UI. Currently, it just looks wrong.. In addition, I posted here with a second suggested improvement to allow for the execution order modal to be opened directly within the setup action page (versus having to click into a rule action to access the modal). Thanks, Stuart
Hi there. I feel like the ‘assign moderator’ feature in control is missing a trick. When I assign a topic to a moderator I need to be able to add a message so the moderator in question knows what they need to look for in that message. Dropping this idea here so I don’t have to tell people on Slack why I assigned a message to them after doing so in control!Cheers
Report foldering is great. Only being able to organize a report folder in the report builder list view is not.Easy admin quality-of-life request - please give the ability to re-organize a report from the Rename Report widget. Current Experience:When you SAVE a report, you have the ability to select your folder. If you forget to do so when you save, you have to go back to the List View, select it, and move it to the right folder.Desired Experience:Instead, it would be a better user experience to allow the ability to re-organize the report in the “edit name” widget (appears when clicking edit pencil on report name in the builder).
Our team has a lot of data we want to track for Success Plans. While I know we can create data designs or rules to do this, both solutions are generally clunky with current SP config, and also do not allow our users to see the results of this information directly from the Success Plan. Certain fields we are looking to calculate and push to SP:Actual Start Date -the first date a CTA or Task was marked as completed Estimated Duration (Days) - the difference between two manual inputs for Target Start & End Dates Actual Duration (Days) - the difference between our actual start date & the system Close Date.If we had the option to build formula fields directly on the SP object, it would save me from having to build some really annoyingly complex Rules to populate these values. We have 9 different Success Plan types with these custom fields on them. This means that to properly evaluate which SPs have values that need to be updated, I need 27 actions because custom fields cannot be configured to be editable for all types on which they are displayed. Formula fields would solve this issue. Please weigh in if you have a use case for formula fields on SPs, or if you have better solutions to what I’m currently building because this feels crazy complicated for no reason. 😅
Currently the only means of being notified of an execution failure is via email. We would like to see Failure and Partial Success Logs made available in a single MDA object from which we can build reports.Use Case: we want to be proactive in monitoring the automation programs we build, as well as other assets such as healthscore which rely on rules, connectors and/or DDs to ingest data. Our approach has been to create reports on related assets and display them in a single dashboard where we can monitor automations and quickly identify issues such as file upload failures, rule failures, etc before the issues are noticed downstream by our users. If we had access to Failures and Partial Success logs then we could more easily do this monitoring. As it stands, having to rely on an individual GS admin to check every email notification prevents us from using the dashboard/report model and doesn’t allow us to share the data with our users visually.Understanding that the volume of records here would be large, we could work with a weekly refresh cadence from each of the following areas:Rules Engine Data Designer Connectors 2.0 Journey OrchestratorThanks! @sdrostgainsightcom
