This is probably more of a community FYI than a request, because it’s more of a series of needed updates that would, based on my experimenting and user feedback, make reporting on Cheat Sheet worthwhile. Fix Orphaned Data: Data from merged or deleted Companies is orphaned. It is not included in the merge process, or expunged if the parent record is deleted so you have Cheat Sheet records that don’t actually associate to an existing customer record, even if, on inspection, they appear to relate to one. Add a Standard Created Date: Created date does not correspond to when the data entered the Cheat Sheet MDA. This is rather contrary to how most Created Date fields are expected to work. Usually *Created Date* means *the date the record was created in this table*. Not so when it comes to Cheat Sheet - it very loosely corresponds to the Activity Date of one of the Timeline entries used to generate the insight. It’s also not even available for all records. Add links to relevant data: There's no reference (id or otherwise) to the Timeline entry/entries used to generate the record. You have this in the UI when it is available, but you cannot report on it. So if part of the reason you want this is to make the data more widely available outside Gainsight, but still related it to Timeline entries when possible for further inspection, you’re out of luck. ID Taxonomy: These next two are similar issues: Key Point ID is an unintelligible mix of ID formats; No standard object GSID There’s no reliable taxonomy of GSIDs in Gainsight*, and Key Point ID is Pretty meaningless, and doesn’t even have a consistent format. Row Grouping: Each row is a category, so each customer will potentially have multiple rows per category - a bit of a blessing and a curse, it makes it easier to separate, but harder to relate back to what you see in the UI. I showed a report to one user and they were rather confused. They were expecting to see one row per customer, so they could see everything in one place. It’s not really intuitive for users to have to also search/filter/rank by customer AND category (hello multi-level sorting?).*There is some appearance of consistency where the first X characters of a GSID are the same for that object, but that is only for Standard objects and those first X characters might not actually be unique to that object either, and any appearance of conformity is evidently not guaranteed at this point.
Would LOVE to see in JO “New Version” to have the check box for “Log to Timeline” back on the main template configuration for the JO email on the “Main” screen (as it was under the Old Version see screenshot below of OLD JO) vs “hidden” under the 3 dots… (see screenshot of NEW JO below) which the 3 dots only show Sync Settings, if you hover over it.if you forget to click into the sync settings to check Log to Timeline, you cannot log the JO emails to timeline after the fact.Huge miss when the New Version was released last year. I have asked a few times and kept forgetting to come to community to log this feedback.
We need the ability to orchestrate different processes like we do in rule chains, but inclusive of all the elements that could be dependencies in Gainsight. For example, I’d like to fetch the latest data into an MDA object from GCP using a connector, then fire off a series of rules, then run adoption explorer for that project, and trigger a data designer to run on that data, and so on. coordinating the timing for all of these events so that they are all running off of the ‘right’ data, which can be dependent on rules running after receiving the newest data is a guessing game right now, and we cross our fingers hoping that the rule timing works as planned. If there are delays in rules running or upload issues with our connectors we run into problems. Since we can’t make AE dependent on the connector running, we currently have about a week of no data because the data came in after the AE job ran, and our DD that allows us to report on AE in R360 (which is also irritating, yes we are on SFDC still) doesn’t have anything after the last date when we received data at the right time.
I would love to add a button to report AI generated posts - I know there is a “report” option, but it would be helpful to have a more clear callout to report AI responses. I have asked our champions to click “report” for AI responses that they see and others on the team are adding a moderator tag and then we go through that filter and warn/ban as needed. An easier way for community members to report this would really help to scale our operations. ~Chloe
Dear Team,At the moment, our only choice is to manually add people to inbound email addresses. Because adding every user manually requires a lot of manual effort when the user list is large, it would be excellent to have a bulk assigning of users to the inbound email address in the inbound emails page or using by using rules.
Currently, Gainsight only supports the configuration of Automatic Milestones for the following Company data types:Lookup Currency Picklist Number As a result, it is not possible to configure Automatic Milestones for any other data type. As high-value data is not always limited to lookup, currency, picklist, or number data types, and because automatic milestones add significant value for both internal and external users, it would be helpful to enable the creation of Automatic Milestones for all data types.
The Published In setting for the Dynamic Content Widget works with Community and Knowledge Base categories, but not Groups. The options for showing most recent Ideas or Product Updates includes those two modules in the functionality of the widget. That makes Groups the biggest gap in this widget’s functionality. ---Use Case: Showing the latest X posts in a Group (especially private groups) on a home page or custom page.
This setting, but the opposite.
GS allows reporting on what closed a CTA, who modified it last, who it was assigned to but not who changed the status of the CTA. I would like to report the user who changes the CTA status
Right now, you can use case formula for String, Number, and Boolean but it would be great to allow Date. For example, I did a comparison between two date by subtracting them from each other to compare to columns of dates to determine which was the later date. In the next transform, I was to do a case where if DIFF is POSITIVE then select DATE 1 otherwise select DATE 2. This will allow me to do a comparison between two columns of dates
When on the Create new topic page, how can one make the Product Area not an option but a mandatory field? Wonder if giving creative control over this page can/will be around the corner? Thanks!
A lot of times in Ops we are building for stakeholders that do not want or need full access to features within the platform but are required to review the deliverables before publishing. In a JO program this is easy enough to change the recipient of a test send. But a survey that requires review (validating all logic paths) is not as easy. I have to build the email template, and the program (even if I’m nowhere near the phase of that project) in order to insert a survey and send a test just so they can review the survey. AND, the survey has to be active for this to work. The survey preview generated from the survey editor has no navigation path back to the survey feature, why can’t this link be shared? Allowing for the preview link to function for any GS user would greatly improve the survey build process.
if you take notes in another tool (mac notes app, word, even notepad)... tabs, whitespace, bullets, numbers, indentation, etc all get jacked up when copy pasting into gainsight timeline. so maybe a feature request for better "format awareness & preservation when copying from notepad or rich text format applications for easier copy & paste" ==> this is a big frustration for many of our CSMs. Would greatly make their lives easier if formatting is preserved when copying from another tool.
When filtering on a report, wouldn't it be possible to set multiple conditions for items in the same category, separated by commas? Currently, only one search item can be entered in one search line. For example, if you want to filter for companies with account IDs A, B, and C, you are currently setting them individually as OR conditions such as account ID equals A, account ID equals B, and account ID equals C, but it would be easier if you could input something like "account ID equals A, B, and C."
There are some fields in Salesforce that are of the datatype “anyType” . An example of this are the New/OldValue fields on the AccountHistory Object in Salesforce. While you can report on these fields, you are not able to use them as filters despite them showing up as text fields. Instead, they appear to function more as Rich Text.Continuing this example, the object also includes a DataType picklist, so you can restrict the records being shown to only include entries where the anyType = String. Use Case: Gainsight has yet to roll out any meaningful OOB history tracking, and while you can use Real Time Rules and custom change tables, duplicating the entire process in Gainsight is not particularly realistic nor as reliable. It would also be a massive redundancy. It would be great to just be able to pull in AccountHistory reporting and be able to filter on these New/OldValue fields, even if it is limited to when the data is certain datatypes. You might be able to get around this by creating a Data Design and a transformation step, but it would be ideal not to have to duplicate data in the first place.Credit to @mmayhall for the sources :)
Feature Request from a CSM at my company: I have a feature request to propose. All of the comments have to be entered in Gainsight in English. Most of my customer calls are in French, which means that I'm also taking the notes in French as it's very difficult to translate on the go while having a conversation with customers.Currently my process is as follow:I take my notes on a Google Doc Once the call is finished I review my notes to make sure they make sense (otherwise the translator won't be able to translate propoerly) Then I use the Deepl integration in Google Doc to translate the notes in one click I quickly check the translation to see if it still makes sense as sometimes it's not 100% accurate After that I copy / paste everything in the Timeline in Gainsight
Under Administration > Timeline > Activity Types : EditWhen creating custom / new fields for timeline entries, there is a limitation on the number of characters allowed in the field title. Due to this, it would be beneficial to allow a few special characters in the field name to at least include a period . / underscore _ / ampersand & (or allow for a hover to briefly explain what is expected in that field)One of the things we use timeline entries to capture and report on JO statistics, such as the # opened and the percentage. Due to the only being able to use numbers or letters creating the field name that is descriptive enough, is a big challenge since I have to spell out the words: number / and / percentage (ie. Number and Percent Email Opened (I have to combine both data points in one field as we can only have 15 fields in a timeline entry) it would be nice to put field name as # Emails Opened & % Opened I cannot abbreviate number as # nor No. as a period is not allowed, and no without the . could be the word No (opposite of yes)I cannot abbreviate percentage as % nor pct. as period is not allowed and no one would know what pct is.Thanks for taking this into consideration
One of these little Admin Quality of Life things I’ve been meaning to post about for a while: Please autofill our global filter configuration! What I mean is this: Let’s say I have a dashboard that sources 5 objects, and each of those 5 objects are responsible for 4 reports. When I configure the global filter, it asks which object I want to set as the default. So, for example, I select “Company” and then configure my field. The global filter setup then autofills all 4 of my reports built off Company. Great! However… The painful part now begins. Instead of being able to autofill each of the remaining 4 objects, I have to painstakingly configure my global filter for each of my remaining 16 reports. Why?? Please add an enhancement where I can have the rest of my 4 objects autofill once I select the right field. Thanks for considering.
It appears you don’t have the option to manually rerun a query and resend an email in dynamic JO. This is again functionality that was available in the old Advanced JO that was removed. This is handy for a couple of different scenarios that could arise: You’ve made changes to the template, and you want to send out an updated version. In my case, it was an internal email that we made some updates to a report and wanted to send out a new version. There was some sort of system error in running, and you need to send again. This has happened a few times where they have been mass JO failures, and we need to trigger a program to run again.
