Hi Team,Currently, we don’t have an option to delete a particular dropdown list item from the UI. I know we can get this done from the backend in some urgent cases. It would be really nice to have a alert that gives all the dependencies for the picklist item and if there are no dependencies then allow the user to delete it? Thanks~Shiv
We have a number of different dashboards which ultimately have the same types of reports on them, but for different filters. I’d like to have the names of the reports which are shown on these dashboards as simple as possible, e.g. “Customer List”, “By Health”, “By Stage” but I cannot save multiple reports with the same name (to satisfy each dashboard view) so have to instead add extra information which is not needed in the dashboard view (as that’s implored via the dashboard name itself), and can often mean that the names for widgets are cut off due to the length. Ideally would be able to set a different display name for the report on the dashboard itself.
We currently are using CTAs to log CSM Sentiment Risks. On these CTAs we have a number of custom fields - drop-downs, strings, textboxes - to facilitate updating the status of the risk, indicate they have asks for other teams, and so on. These fields are used in managerial reporting to update the business on risks. The CSMs and their managers would have an easier time triaging and updating these CTAs if it was possible to have the custom fields be editable in-line in reporting and the Cockpit (Cockpit doesn’t even allow custom fields to be added to Views). However, I cannot add in-line editability to CTA fields in reports.See screenshot below where the custom CTA fields are in-eligible. The eligible fields are all Company-level fields added to a report on the CTA object. While I understand that Call to Action is a system field, it seems that there is a clear use case for being able to edit custom fields that are included in CTA layouts in reporting. We already field complaints on CTA maintenance taking too many clicks. It seems reasonable to be able to update these kind of fields in a tabular view similar to, say, a Scorecard Mass Edit widget.
Now that the Handoff Analysis is rolling for all customers, I’d love to be able to add it as a Summary notification for my team. Would you please make this available?
I suspect the new MCP server is using the Gainsight API under the hood, so this may also represent an opportunity for API improvements. We frequently receive requests from our CSMs for company-specific insights on the community. For example:“Can you provide a list of all ideas posted by employees of ACME Widgets?” While testing the MCP-connected agent, I found that it can only look up users using exact-match fields such as:Email (full address only) Username User ID SSO identifiersHowever, it does not support:Searching by email domain (e.g., @acme.com) Searching by company name Partial or “contains” matching on fieldsCurrent LimitationThis makes it difficult to answer common business questions like:“Show all posts from employees of a specific company” “Identify users associated with a specific organization” “Find users with a particular skill or role”Proposed EnhancementWe would like to see support for more flexible user filtering, including:Searching by custom profile fields (e.g., company, job title) Partial matching (e.g., email contains @acme.com, company contains “acme”) The ability to filter users and content based on these attributesValueThis would enable significantly more valuable use cases, such as:Reporting on engagement by customer/company Identifying advocates or experts within specific organizations Supporting CSM requests without manual workarounds Enabling more powerful MCP and AI-driven insights
It’d be nice to be able to move and spin off replies from Product Updates in the same way we can move replies from other threads into their own posts or other posts.
Hi Team,I’d like to request a feature enhancement to enable granular video engagement tracking when a video is embedded within a dialog/guide.Today, we can embed videos to educate and onboard users, but we lack visibility into how users actually engage with those videos. Specifically, we’d benefit from first-class tracking for the following events: Watched the video (initial play detection) Did not watch the video (dialog viewed but no video play) Watched the entire video (completion threshold reached, e.g., 90–100%) Abandoned the video partway through (drop-off with last watched timestamp/percentage)
I’ve received this sort of feedback at numerous companies now. It would be great if we could configure playbooks to automatically progress a CTA. For example, we are working through a Termination playbook at the moment and it is crucial to be able to report on where it is at. It is not a 1:1 Task:Status ratio, but it’s close. It would be good if we could set it so that when Task B is complete, move Status to X, without any touch of Rules or anything like that.
It would be valuable to have a frontend-supported way to store persistent per-user data in Gainsight CC.My suggestion is to extend the new Web SDK with the ability to set specific user profile fields from the frontend, without needing custom connectors.Ideally, this could use a new hidden user profile field type, perhaps called API, which could be included in the JavaScript inSidedData object and updated through the SDK.Example use cases:Permanently dismissing an onboarding widget per user Storing frontend-driven customizations, such as product-specific subscriptions or preferences
When you go to Account Metrics under Topics, you get a lot of great info. If you select a particular customer in the top heat map, you can see the conversation thread that lead to that particular sentiment score. However, where you actually get sent is the particular email *thread* (if it’s from an email), which can be several emails long.It would be great if you could click the sentiment icon and actually jump to the specific email that triggered that in the thread, instead of having to scroll through potentially long interactions to get there.Let me click the sad face!
This is for Staircase reports, but might be applicable elsewhere. Currently, the reports in Staircase are somewhat limited for their customization (see )and all but require you do use an outside tool for more detail. For example, if I create a custom report on Accounts and want to know which ones don’t have a domain, I have to create a report, add Domains as a column, and then...export it and filter to nulls.Even in advanced filters, Domains is not accessible to filter on.If it’s a property you can add as a column, you should be able to filter on it as well.
I’m coming from Gainsight CS so this is maybe a bit biased, but the filtering in Staircase is not super intuitive. In this example, it looks like you only have OR logic available. If you add a filter, you can add additional AND clauses in that one branch of the OR filter: This seems like kind of a clunky implementation of getting AND/OR logic. If you want to do something like A AND (B OR C AND (D OR E)) that would be...harder to envisionReports are worse, because it seems like you ONLY have the AND operator?Even when you go to “advanced filters” it’s just more AND operators. I know this is supposed to be a simple to use tool, but this area seems simplified to the point where it’s actually harder to use.
I recently learned that Gainsight’s MCP Connector is currently supported only with ChatGPT and Claude for Gainsight CS customers, while Gemini is limited to customers with both Gainsight CS and Staircase AI.We originally requested Claude internally, but Gemini is the only approved AI tool available as a sub-processor. Although Gemini is approved for use with Gainsight’s MCP, we cannot configure it because we do not subscribe to Staircase AI.It would be beneficial to make Gemini available to all Gainsight CS customers, regardless of Staircase AI subscription status. Just sayin’ ;)
The Curated Content modules currently support only articles, questions, and discussions; Events cannot be added to these modules. In our use case, each product has its own discussion forum, and the ability to include Events within the corresponding product’s curated content would significantly increase visibility for educational webinars among relevant users. At present, users may only see an Event if it happens to be featured on the homepage, leaving no reliable method to surface these resources within product‑specific areas. While we are encouraging users to visit the Events forum, the inability to feature individual Events within curated content represents a substantial limitation to effective event promotion and user awareness.
In my humble opinion 🙂 administrators should be able to cancel/abort a Connector sync without having to submit a ticket to Gainsight support for assistance.Propeller is currently working on setting up the HubSpot activity sync, and I’ve been running into some issues with the email sync, so I was doing some testing yesterday. At one point, I accidentally clicked the button to sync all email data for all time, which I certainly did not want to do.In a panic, I reached out to GS support on chat, and they told me that only Gainsight could abort the sync on the backend. I escalated the ticket to my CSM (shout out to the GOAT, Paulina), but because the GS support team was on holiday, they were not able to cancel the job until 24 hours later.LUCKILY, there was a data mapping issue that made it so my connector job failed. Without this error though, I could’ve added THOUSANDS of activities erroneously, which would’ve also required GS support to clean up (since admins can delete Timeline activities). That’s a lot more steps than if I were able to just cancel the job myself.
Something that keeps cropping up more and more with each new integration, MCP and LLM tool, is trying to direct your LLM (and users) to the “correct” fields on any given table.Ideally, you don’t hold on to old fields that aren’t used, but that’s not always super realistic.I would like a way to add meta-data properties to fields (thinking this would be tenant level not object by object). Here’s a general example:I’m setting up a Claude skill for my org and I want it to reference the correct fields. But if I “deprecate” a field, I then need to make sure my skill is updated and reading the right field. If I can do something even as simple as an “Active/Inactive” boolean at the field level, I could potentially flag those more easily for an LLM to ignore. As admin capabilities improve, I could potentially run internal meta-data updates to make bulk changes to fields, audit what is/isn’t used on layouts and see what maybe needs to be active/inactive.I might want my own properties beyond a single boolean, but this would this could help admins manage data better at our orgs with a layer of platform level control beyond having to delete fields to get people and tools to “ignore” them.
The Recently Active Topics section is a valuable way to surface engagement across the community, but today it aggregates topics from all visible communities and groups, including groups a user is not a member of.In communities like ours—where custom roles control product‑based visibility—this results in a high volume of content that is technically visible but not relevant to the individual user. This creates unnecessary scrolling and makes it easier to miss important discussions that do apply to them. The idea is: Provide an option to automatically filter the “Recently Active Topics” widget so that it:Displays topics only from communities the user has visibility to, and Displays topics from groups the user is a member ofAlternatively, allow users to apply a toggle or filter within the widget to:Show All Visible Topics or Show My Groups Only
This is a simple ask: If an action is taken that would remove points from a user profile, do not remove points once the user’s balance is 0. It only makes sense to reverse points that were previously earned. The current behavior creates an unnecessary “point deficit” for community members, which can happen purely due to changes in community configuration. Background:I recently enabled gamification in our mature community that has been live for 2 years. In May, I introduced points for best answers as a new feature for our members. After the first month, I noticed several users with a negative point balance because they had a best answer marked BEFORE we started awarding points. Then, the points they were not awarded for that answer in the first place were deducted when the best answer was changed after we enabled gamification. In order for those members to get their balance above 0, they will now have to answer two questions whereas all other members starting from 0 only need to answer 1. NOTE: this feature request could also be addressed by implementing the below idea, which would allow community managers to mitigate this undesirable situation by manually adjusting the member’s points without the need for a fancy API setup.
Recently we found out that calls to the GS API don’t support encoding for the Content-Type header. An error comes back looking like the following: Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf-8 for the event 'event_name_here' does not match the expected Content-Type: application/json. Working with GS Support they’ve let me know the engineering team has logged this as an enhancement request and plan to begin work on it in the second week of November, and it might take at least one quarter to deploy this into production. It was then mentioned to create an enhancement request here in order to get updates on its deployment, so here is that request.Ticket ID: 431427Hoping get an update on when this enhancement has been deployed.Cheers!
One of the biggest pain points I run into, particularly when reconnecting our sandbox to a refreshed Salesforce environment, is how the Connector jobs handle failures related to field deprecations. Instead of notifying the admin of every identified failure point, we’re only provided (what I imagine is) the first failure point that the connector identifies.Example could be…Job A -- Fails because (Field A) has been removed. Remove Field A and run again. Job A -- Fails because (Field B) has been removed. Remove Field B and run again Job A -- Fails because (Field C) has been removed.Given that neither the in-app logs nor email notification provide a full list of failure points, you’re essentially locked in a continuous loop of removing items one at a time until you finally get them all.If possible, it would be great to see this enhanced so that the failure logs provide a full list of errors for quicker remediation.
Hi Team,Currently, we are limited to only 5 filters while creating a case statement. Can we increase the limit to more filters? For an enterprise business, the limit of being able to use 5 filters is too small. Formula Fields in Rules Engine - Gainsight Inc.
