How do other communities manage user and admin edits to prevent misuse?

Users can edit their message within an hour, and an admin can also edit messages. Is it possible for an admin's edit to be separate from the user's message so that it cannot be edited in a way that is detrimental to the moderator team?I'm also curious to know how other platforms handle the ability for users to edit their messages, as well as admin edits. How do they ensure that admin edits remain separate from the user's message, so they can't be altered in a way that could harm the moderation team?

Add sub forum question feed to custom page

Hey there! We’ve created a custom page where we’d like to host the question feed of a particular sub forum. Is this possible at all? The closest thing I’ve found is to add the Tab widget, but it seems like you’re unable to customize that to only display questions from a specific sub forum. There doesn’t seem to be any way of filtering the recently active or help others feed. Any other ideas?

REST API for retrieving user groups and articles

For integration, we need to retrieve user groups and the articles within those groups using a REST API. However, I'm currently unable to locate the necessary APIs for this purpose. Is there an alternative method or a different REST API that can be utilized to accomplish the desired outcome?

Make preview URL for community post an identical placeholder

When we draft community posts as articles, we often take advantage of the drafting + scheduling publishing functionality. I am aware of the ability to generate a “preview” URL for this post, which successfully redirects to the live post once it’s published. Is it possible to generate a true placeholder URL that is identical to what the final, live URL will be, even prior to publishing it?

Prefill subforum when posting from a custom page

Hey there!I’m curious if it’s possible at all to have a subforum prefilled when posting a question from a custom page.  We want to include a question feed on our custom page, but when posting from the custom page, the subforum field defaults to being empty. We’d like to prefill the subforum on the question so that when someone posts a question from our custom page, it will appear in specific question feed that we’ve added to the page. Does this make sense? 😅 Is this possible?Many thanks to anyone with thoughts on this :)

If I remove a like for a user via the API, does it also remove the points awarded with it?

I have some issues with a very small group of users occasionally trying to cheat our gamification system by coordinated liking of each other’s posts. I’ve developed automations to track and monitor this type of cheating, but my enforcement has been limited to just addressing it with the users. Until there is a way to remove points from users, it’s impossible for me to undo the points earned via cheating. Or so I thought…I remembered that when an answer is removed or a like a undone by a user, the corresponding points are also removed with them. And there are API operations for liking/unliking posts. And my tracking / monitoring system is set up in a way where I could automate unliking the post for them… If I remove the like via the API, does it remove the points?

Zapier Consumption

Good Day to All,As we set up some automations using Zapier in our not yet launched community. I was wondering if anyone had guidance on how many tasks per month they use?👀looking at you @DannyPancratz . How can I configure Read-Only access to the community for employees?

How can I grant “Read Only” community access to employees?  The use case is that we want to encourage employees to monitor what our customers are saying in the community but prevent them from posting until they have approval and training. Another use case is Sales people showing the community during product demos.  We do want them to showcase the community but don’t want them to post or reply while logged in as a “demo user,” and we want to be able to filter these users out of our monthly reports.  I tried searching for articles and other discussions on this but didn’t find anything.

Copy text form word to a article

I am moving a word manual to out knowledge base. This manual contains a lot of screenshots/images. Is there a easy way top copy them so that the images stay in the article and I don't get an error when publishing about the amount of caracters.

Badge Notification Email Editing and previewing

While editing email notifications for Badges. I came across the fact they were able to take html (Thanks @olimarrio )  BUT they do not get a preview like in the system email editor. So I used an online html viewer to test the html I would then paste into the very little text box on the badgehttps://html.onlineviewer.net/ Works a treat for identifying formatting issues or poorly chosen color schemes.

Site identity gone?

I’m not sure if I’m remembering things correctly but when I used to go to control > customization > header I used to be able to see a section in here for site identity and I was able to put our company icon. Also our icon on the address bar has been missing all day.

How often does CC Smart Assistant refresh it's corpus?

This article used to have information about MDS, but we moved that to another release. How many of your ideas are duplicates?

We found out recently that 20% of all ideas submitted to our Community have been duplicates.I was curious if this was typical across other communities, how many duplicates do you all get?Second question, have you found any effective methods for reducing the number of duplicates that come in?

How to find out a "Product Area ID" for each respective Product Area?

Hi there,Q: How to find out a "Product Area ID" for each respective Product Area?Use Case:We are restructuring our Ideation Product Areas and we would like to change the Product Area of hundreds of Ideas - in bulk.According to the API Documentation (see screenshot below) we could change each Idea’s product Area through an API Action → meaning we could do it in bulk with a Google Sheet and a Zapier Workflow.The Documentation (see yellow box in the screenshot) talks about “Product Area ID” But where can I find it?I looked everywhere in the backend but can only find the name of a Product Area, not an ID.Can someone point me in the right direction?   …… Another question: for the string “id” does it mean the Topic ID for the Idea? (the one found at the end of the URL, or in the Topic Export).Or is it a different type of ID?

Force URL redirect of a custom page

Hey there, quick question about redirecting a custom page URL. We created a custom page a while back that’s not so relevant anymore. We’ve included a hyperlink to the custom page in some external materials including downloadable pdfs. Now we’d like the link to go to a newly created landing page. Is there any way to force a redirect of a custom page’s URL to a different URL?Many thanks for any ideas!

What is awstrack? Is it a new thing?

Hi folks.I just noticed that the URLs that appear inside system emails, and which point to the topic, include the domain awstrack.meIs this a recent addition? A community member reports having problems opening these URLs, and I’m trying to diagnose if it’s their problem or ours. I’m just not sure that I remember that tracker being there before.Any info appreciated,Mark

We have moderator approval turned on for all posts and replies. Is there any way for the end user to see any posts they’ve created that have not yet been reviewed by a moderator yet?

Best Practice for Dynamic Content Widget: I just found out that it's actually possible to filter by subcategory.

Hi there,In the Dynamic Content Widget, for months I thought it is not possible to filter by Category.But I just found out “by accident” that if you deselect Ideas & Product Updates, it gives you the chance to  only show Questions / Discussions / Articles that were posted in certain categories by filtering in the Published in selector.That kind of makes sense, but I didn’t know about it earlier.     That’s pretty neat, so I thought I’d share! Best,danieleP.S.: CC @Julian because we were talking about this yesterday.

Unable to Delete Category

Hello - I am trying to delete 4 knowledge base categories that we are not using. When I attempt to delete the categories I receive an error saying the category has active or trashed topics. I’ve double and triple checked that no topics exist in the content overview or the trash can.Any thoughts?
