I'd like to be able to have a recipient answer a survey question with a date. i.e. The question is "can you give us an estimated target completion date?". I'd like to be able to collect a date object from that response so I can trigger time-centric CTAs. I'm collecting a text field now that at least gets me the info but if I could collect a date field I think I could take it a step further.
Hey all 👋🏻We’re in the middle of our Staircase implementation and have already received feedback from some of our CS leaders around the lack of customization for some areas of the Staircase account view. Namely:The inability to hide standard fields from the overview section at the top (i.e., Journey Phase, APP ID, etc.) that we’re not planning to have loaded to at this moment. Not sure if this would fall under the idea here Inability to remove specific engagement types (i.e., Chats) that we don’t utilize and thus will never have data for. Our users are much more accustomed to the configuration options with CS and would love to see this flexibility expanded to Staircase. Appreciate it!
Gainsight should provide an ability to pin, star & clone an activity on Timeline.
Is there a way that we can toggle off this emoji? It’s not being well-received by my end users, who view it as unprofessional.
I have a bunch of groups that are no longer active but the only option I have now to remove the group is to delete it entirely. However, you can’t delete a group if there are posts in it, so you have to remove the posts before you can delete it. I don’t want to delete the group but it’s the only option to remove old groups. Therefore, I’d love for there to be a way to Archive Groups so we can still see them and who was in them on the backend, but once they are archived, the members get removed from them so it no longer shows up in their Groups.
When sharing a report with customers through Spaces, they can add/update the filters on the report. In the process, they can see all fields on the object used in the report (and all objects accessible through lookups). It is not desired that customers know all data points we have on a Company/Relationship, for example. By playing around with the filters (e.g, using > on numeric fields and changing the limit iteratively), they could even figure out what the value of a field is. Definitely not desired!
I have been talking to a customer who would like to have the ability to allow at least the people who were tagged in the message to be able to add notes or modify the text in the Timeline view.
Would be great as an admin if there was a view of the Global Timeline that would show me all the drafts. We are heavy users of email to timeline, and anytime I need to troubleshoot why an email didn't attach, I wind up having to become the user with the problem in order to troubleshoot. Would love to be able to see all the drafts without having to take that extra step.
It would be nice if there were a way to change the date format on community posts. For example, from “1 month ago” to “12-30-2025” or something similar. This could be a setting in control for the community or a personal setting for each user or both. (A community wide default customizable for each user)
We use groups to facilitate beta programs for our software. So far, it’s been really useful to have Product Managers be able to share documentation and answer questions in those groups, but we often get feedback or ideas that then end up mis-labeled as questions or discussions. Or, some users astutely create new ideas, but the ideas are then detached from any relevant conversation or context in the group. We’d like group members to be able to share Ideas within groups.
Hello, As the GDPR approaches, there is one issue that Community lacks and that is additional "check-box" and more customization towards User Registration regarding "Marketing Consent". Should the company desire to contact User, it is currently impossible to achieve this with the tools provided. With current options, it looks (at best) like this: This is by no means desired way, as there are several major issues. You cannot move this below password field You cannot change the size of the font You cannot choose only one answer (logically, 99% of new users will check NO) You cannot link conditions to the registration fields, unlike with Terms & Conditions We propose to add ability for custom "check box" at least. I am sure, that we are not the only company, that would require this. If possible, sooner than before GDPR hits the field. Cheers, Jakub Miller, O2 Czech Republic
Hi, Since we are a worldwide company we have to support our clients in many popular languages. There are a lot of users who do not speak English. They are interested in posting their questions in a local language and search for topics only in their own language. So it is hard to operate the community in English for such users. In our current Forum solution we have a mechanism to redefine text for every label of the UI in a local language and apply that .xml to the forum as a language pack. So a user can choose the language of UI, then the platform run the correspondent language pack and the user can see the forum in the chosen language. How it is organized: Every placeholder has a default name. The platform "knows" where every placeholder should be located in the UI. In the admin panel a community manager can open (or even create his own) language pack and redefine the specific placeholder text for the specific language. Like so: This way the text will be applied to every location where the placeholder is used if a user changes the UI language. To find the 'Key' of the placeholder you have to redefine, you can use a special view of the UI (also available in the admin panel). It shows all interface as a 'Keys' without the text: So a community manager can simply find a key using a search engine for the language pack in admin panel and simply redefine it. I don't think it's so hard to technically realize such tool. It would significantly improve a usability of the non-English-speaking users. And your portfolio, of course :) Hope I was helpful. Please take the idea into account. It is much more convenient for each side of a community than several separate language instances.
Hi, We are using the Community most often on an iPhone and when users are trying to create a new article they are provided with a massive list of related topics, see below and on the iPhone the users will need to scroll a fair bit to actually come to the description part of the topic they want to created. I would like to suggest to make it optional or allow the end user to define how many related topics they would like to display like to display to their users. @Yoeri Tom suggested I should tag you into this idea. Thanks for considering it. Claudia
At present, you cannot request users upload a profile picture when they create their user. It would be amazing if they could upload their profile pic when creating their account. Otherwise, they need to do so of their own volition, or I have to suggest they do that in my onboarding messaging.
Currently there is a connector for CC and Gainsight CS within CS but it is only 1 direction (CC → CS) We need a way of updating Community using CS, either via External Actions (and therefore we need to be able to authorize API connection via a Connector Job) or just by having OOB integration that adds Community related actions to rules engine. Our current use cases; Assign Credly badges to user Assign roles/permisions to user Both these products are owned by Gainsight so there should be an easy way to send data bi-directionally between them….
Currently the sidebar in Groups is hardly being utilized as a tool to show contextual content. Except from the group description and the group member list there are no additional widgets available.I propose to have the groups sidebar be customizable like the general sidebar, with the ability to add, move, remove and configure widgets, such as:Events widget HTML widget Announcement card / “featured_side”With these additions there wouldn’t be a need to build workarounds in order to e.g. promote events, feature content.
It would be great to add users to groups via the API so that we can add group members based on programmatic conditions. For example, a user can complete a course in the Gainsight LMS and automatically be joined to a community group via the API after the webhook marks their learning path complete.
Our team recently implemented Staircase, which we have integrated with our CS instance, and we would really like to see the Staircase Executive Dashboard support global filters. Currently, the lack of global filtering limits our ability to slice and dice the data in meaningful ways across key segments (e.g., region, team, CSM, product, customer segment/tier, etc.). This limits the dashboard’s value for operational monitoring and executive level reporting and analysis. For larger or more segmented teams/orgs, the absence of global filters creates added overhead and manual work when trying to surface meaningful targeted insights across different segments. Enabling global filters and bringing this in line with the existing CS dashboard functionality (feature parity) with the existing CS dashboard would make this view significantly more flexible and impactful. Bringing this Staircase dashboard in line with CS dashboard capabilities supports a more unified E2E experience across the CS platform.
Ask Staircase is pretty interesting, but it would be great if instead of just a wall of text, you were able to get a wall of text that linked you to the pertinent information. For example, if you ask for your top accounts at risk with a renewal in 30 days, you would get a list of the accounts with links to their account page so you didn’t have to search them up.If you asked for something topic related, maybe add a link to the account page, and the topic section specifically as well. This would help save CSMs a click, and would be useful if it could be pulled out when using the MCP so users have an easier way to jump to the accounts in question.
At the moment you can only schedule an Article for future publication. This is a big burden when we want to schedule something we would like an answer on (as you can only mark a solution to a question). Can you please add the functionality to schedule a Question and Discussion so community managers can communicate with their audience as they intend.
